This looks really fake.
User avatar #89 - awesomenessdefined (01/23/2013) [-]
Yes, like how in math they make you memorize every possible equation, not how to do a ******* equation.

Sassy Target is breeding idiots.

That's what they tell their employees.

I just can't really appreciate this. I'm a strong believer that intelligence comes from how hard you try, which means studying and working hard to get good grades, especially on exams. I've always thought that you get out of something what you put into it. This quote kind of allows people to justify not trying their hardest to get the best marks, which is a bad idea. Really, we should post things that boost confidence, things that tell young students that if you truly try, and put your best effort in, you will get what you want out of it. Inspirational, motivational quotes that give a boost of determination is what is needed; not self-justifying words that encourage the idea that failing is something that is redeemable. It doesn't instill a good and competitive attitude to give someone who has failed a winner's ribbon. Yes, a self-esteem boost feels good, but it dulls your character, at least i.m.o.

which reminds me, i should really go study. ****

i never and i mean NEVER touched a book in high school to study for a test and i aced them all the time. i think that you have a point with working hard to study and intelligence but at the same time there's ALWAYS going to be exceptions. Like people that really do try their hardest to study and spend hours doing it and still barely pass and the other end of the spectrum like me.

Step 1: Read comment
Step 2: Look at username
Step 3: OHH, asian. Totally makes sense.
Step 4: Continue with life as before.
#92 to #79 - cockasian (01/23/2013) [-]
hahaha that would be a clever deduction, I'm not asian at all though, I just thought that'd be a funny play on words, I'm caucasian haha

>English exams test your ability to comprehend a text and/or to write a good quality essay
>Math exams test your ability to solve problems and find unique ways to find the answer
>In both of these exams very little has to be memorized, but your intuition and ability in that subject is being tested
(most math tests I had, have had a formula sheet)
#73 to #66 - Womens Study Major (01/23/2013) [-]
In every math class I've ever had, we would receive a failing grade if we didn't solve the problem how to teacher taught, so no, absolutely not "unique" ways to find an answer.
User avatar #90 to #73 - awesomenessdefined (01/23/2013) [-]
There aren't ever 'Unique' ways to solve a problem. You can't just come up with a way to, I don't know, factor, something.
User avatar #75 to #73 - laky (01/23/2013) [-]
Well yeah when your doing a test during the course its like that. But on your finals you can solve it however you want to. What my point is that in math you are not supposed to memorize the formula or a way how to solve a problem, but to understand it.
#70 to #66 - redpandas (01/23/2013) [-]
And history, gotta remember that stuff too.
#67 to #66 - Bomiheko (01/23/2013) [-]
You lucky ass! All of my math tests require me to remember formulas
#65 - VikingSharkPANCH (01/23/2013) [-]
Its a Target Conspiracy. They want us to do bad in school, so we end up working at Target FOREVER
#64 - Katzie (01/23/2013) [-]
Covering up that it's Sassy Target rather than Target could have been a hell of a lot better if you'd moved the Target to the left.
That said, I have no clue why you bothered.
#62 - Womens Study Major (01/23/2013) [-]
Except you just covered up Sassy Target which isn't even owned by target. ******* fag.
#60 - Womens Study Major (01/23/2013) [-]
"Yeah doesn't matter if you **** up you can always get a job here"
User avatar #59 - fyaq ONLINE (01/23/2013) [-]

User avatar #58 - dantemp (01/23/2013) [-]
Unless it's a math exam...or physics...or writing an esse...or any other subject that requires you to use what you've memorized... Which are the most things past certain level of education...
#56 - Womens Study Major (01/23/2013) [-]

Way to cover up the "sassy" in front of target.

They probably didn't want to be blown up by likes or anything.

Or you're just being a glorious winged faggot, thinking it would be funnier with just "target"
