To be honest most editing programs are damn expensive. Even more so 3d programs cost quite a bit.
I know there are opesource programs for editing/3d.

So I downloaded the Sims 2 and it's expansions and such, because 3 is still too new for me to want to try and torrent it. I might get caught, you know?
At work the other day, my coworker's wife comes over and talks to us, and I mentioned I started playing it. She's like, "Oh you got the Sims? I love that game!"
MFW I replied, "Yes, I bought the Sims 2. Completely legitimately. I absolutely did not illegally download it."

What are you a little bitch, straight edge, moralfag?
1) Sims 3 was released almost 4 years ago
2) you seriously can't just make a comment about the game without either A) showing off that you're "UB3R-|-|4><0RZ" for torrenting or B) having such a strong conscience that you instantly tell everyone everything that you've ever done wrong.

**maucorn rolled a random image posted in comment #2603073 at My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic ** "that you instantly tell everyone everything that you've ever done wrong" My one weakness!
1) My bad, for some reason, I thought it was newer. Oh well.
2) I'm not really a moralfag, I'm scared of getting caught (again.)
3) I bet you feel like such an Internet badass for pirating stuff, don't you? At least, that's how you come across.
4) Since when can't I make comments about torrenting stuff without trying to make myself out to be awesome or something? I already know I am, I don't care if anyone else does.

@2 What did you get caught with, and what were the consequences?
@3 No, I don't normally torrent stuff; I typically just wait for Steam sales. The last thing I torrented was Skyrim when it first came out. I almost instantly regretted it; 1.0 was a buggy mess and updating means waiting another few hours to redownload the entire game. There is nothing honorable about torrenting; I usually end up paying for the game later anyway.

I was downloading the Transformer movies. I think Paramount Pictures may have made the torrent as a trap, because they sent my IP address to Mediacom, telling them to shut me down because of a copyright violation. I had to go into a Mediacom office and sign a sheet saying I wouldn't do it again. Obviously I have, but I try to be more careful now.
Yeah, well I didn't realize that Sims 2 had so many fucking add-ons and expansions and shit. There were twenty different installations to do, plus the crack. Took me over two hours to finally get everything right. And it takes forever to load families.

I think that depends on how fast your computer is. It is difficult to go back to playing with fewer add ons once you've enjoyed them but you can of course play the game with only some installed.
I have installed the Sims 2 more than once though and yeah it does take most of a day.
Oh. I also put the original Sims games back on my computer a while ago. I was getting bummed at some of the broken bits in Sims 3. Some of the stuff on there that used to take 5 minutes to load back when I was 12 just goes like a flash now.

Hey bro Dynamic IP could help for that but out of curiousity (because I haven't pirated for a year out of fear of getting caught.) What exactly happened to you. I mean how you know you were caught and could you explain what happened a little more about what happened.
Dyanmic IP is a great tool and Tors are good too if you have a fast internet.

My internet cut out. When I called in to Mediacom, they told me they had received a notice from Paramount pictures about my copyright violation. I was told to go into a Mediacom office and sign the sheet, and when I did, they turned my 'net back on the next day.
As far as I know, seeding does nothing to slow down or otherwise harm your computerly activities, apart from taking away from your current upload speed (since it's being used to upload files via torrent client). So the only time you should turn off a seeding client is when you need to send your friend a heavy file via Skype or upload it somewhere.

quick question tho. if you were going to use it as a profession wouldnt you need to buy the real thing? for legal purposes?
Their piracy problem is a none issue to them though because of that high price
Companies are still paying money and I i'm sure there are plenty of college students who are going into the media arts who have purchased this illegitimately.
They're only gaining money here. The people pirating were never going to buy and the people buying were never going to pirate.

Anyone else unable to open any pirate bay links? I always get the "... Took too long to respond" message, or infinite loading.
I'd much prefer to buy something, especially if I like the program. Just so I can give support to the creators. But until I can actually afford, I go with torrenting or cracking my own files.
How exactly do I seed something after Ive finished downloading it?

I've been pirating for a while now, but the only thing I have no idea how to do is software. I've tried downloading Photoshop, Sony Vegas, and other things, but they just don't seem to work. Can anyone help?
