Actually, the forces "electric" and "magnetism" are one and the same. This is taught in high school physics.

Please, know the difference between electromagnets and electromagnetism. Electromagnets are coils of wire arranged so as to create an (electro)magnetic field when electricity is passed through them. Electromagnetism is a force which applies to all thing electronic and/or magnetic.

I haven't had high school level physics, nor will I ever. I chose something else that interests me more. Guess I was wrong. Still, I would have left out "electro", just to avoid any confusion.

You are mixing two things. These are (or were) magnet because there is a north and a south pole.
You can create a magnetic field with wires, and doping this "magnet" by placing a piece of iron inside.

Seems that way. Still, having a picture of magnets, and using the term electromagnetic is either plain wrong, or not something the general public would know is right. And when it's posted to the general public for them to enjoy, you should cater to what the majority understands.

How about this.

The combined force of attraction between two south poles to a nearby north pole is strong enough to negate the force of repulsion caused by placing the south poles right next to each other.

Repeat and reverse poles for north.

if the poles are at 99.99% equal strength, and strength of the bond is determined by distance and the magnet, the opposite poles would never be strong enough.

If you heat a magnet or you shake it in your hand quite fast (both are the same you just need to create enough agitation), the magnetization will get to 0.

For the temperature, it's called the Curie temperature.
(I know the physic but I m not sure if I can calculate the captcha.

Where did you find them? Chances are wherever you got them, they were already demagnetized then. Or they could just have their N and S labels wrong.

they were just standard magnets from a package that our electronics teacher bought. they were meant for educational use.

that is why. Educational use magnets are terrible. They're usually low quality. My teacher bought a 10 pack and none of them were properly magnetized. They lost their pull within two days.

they were bought for educational use, not designed for it. there was a set of magnets out as well that were from a couple years ago but from the same model, and still had good tug.
