its not infinite, in fact, you cant even write the number googolplex in it, way too many zeroes (100th exponentiation of 100th exponentiation of 100)

sicohippy (01/18/2013) [] What makes it infinite is canter's diagonal, its a theory that suggests that as soon as an infinite set it complete there is another number right after the last. For example, in an infinite set of 1's and 0's as soon as the set is finished, another 1 or 0 comes in to complete it, making it a complete set again, meaning another number (be it a 1 or 0) has to be added to the set, and so its ever expanding. the universe follows an infinite pattern like this, and so the reason it has to keep expanding is to keep itself at an infinite set.

your second point is ******** ,
"nothing is infinite" seriously? the whole concept of infinity was based and introduced through numbers. if you want an example, lets look at a googolplex, this number is so ******* huge, that if tried to go that far in metres, we will reach the end of the universe. so does this mean that we cant go bigger? no. we can square two googolplex's and still add one to it and then....keep on doing so. you can think of numbers that can literally turn your head into black holes if you tried store it all, and it still wouldn't even scrape the surface the concept of infinity. (if you think that the black hole thing is rubbish look up the principle of maximum entropy.
