not to worry believers, the non-believers will got all the favors in the world but never in the afterlife. Although we faces difficulties, we will surely be in heaven, watching those ignorant humans burning into ashes, the they will be recreated again, then will be burnt again, then recreated again, and burnt again and it will continues, until all sins is purified. Only then, they are allowed to enter the heaven.

If you think like that about other people, I don't think Jesus wants you.

Most of their gold and **** are historic artifacts and pieces of art--back from the days when the CC was an actual global power and not just a religion. The reason they don't sell those things is the same reason the US government doesn't sell the Washington Monument or the Smithsonian Museum--even though you could use the exact same argument.

I'm not religious, I'm just sayin'.
User avatar #162 to #11 - novren (01/18/2013) [-]
Yes, but (I believe) the US don't preach about a heaven full of happiness for everyone and mostly, they don't preach about not making wealth on Earth (sorry if I am not clear, my English is pretty rusty, tell me if you don't understand and I'll try my best to fix it).

Have you ever been to the Vatican? They've got more bling than the Belgian royal palace.

Most of what is visible there can be judged as art or a historic object, but most of 'their gold and ***** comes from ransacking, pillaging and selling "indulgences".

Them bastards just lucky we never got over there during the Beeldenstorm.

Warren Buffet, a single atheist, will spend more over his lifetime to help the poor, than the vatican did over the past 500 years. FACT.

"An extremely large group of people collectively give more to those in need than you ever will. Theists, give me green thumbs."
User avatar #64 to #7 - didactus (01/18/2013) [-]
Considering they boast about having 1,5 billion members, and the amount they give it too is less than 1,5 billion people. Saying they are the best charity ever is kind of a stretch.
User avatar #58 to #7 - thepyras (01/18/2013) [-]
Oh, right, I forgot. You can't defend a religious group on Funnyjunk, what was I thinking? Although I still think you misunderstood his comment. You're thinking about it in strict monetary amounts, when he obviously meant relative ones. The truth is that most people who make fun of the Catholic church never do anything to help the poor, not even a portion of what they could, while the church uses a large portion of their funds on charitable efforts, about 90% according to The Economist.
User avatar #87 to #58 - thepyras (01/18/2013) [-]
Alright, guys. There's a difference in thumbing someone down because they're wrong, and doing it because you don't like what the person is saying. I don't particularly like the Catholic church either, I'm just pointing out that they do in fact give quite a lot.
User avatar #31 to #7 - hawaiianhappysauce (01/18/2013) [-]
And it's only 10 times over...
User avatar #12 to #7 - thepyras (01/18/2013) [-]
That was only one translation. Here's another:

"You mock the Catholic church for their inability to give, yet they're more giving than you ever will be."
User avatar #68 to #12 - wiredguy (01/18/2013) [-]
You know that for a fact?

Per capita, Catholics probably give faaar less to charity than Muslims do. By a multiple of ten or more.
And yet they're the bad guys, because of extremist groups who act loosely in their name.
User avatar #89 to #68 - thepyras (01/18/2013) [-]
Also, I don't often hear Muslim groups mocking the Catholics. Funny how you would bring that up, seeing as how it was in no way related to what I said.
User avatar #81 to #68 - thepyras (01/18/2013) [-]
I do, actually. The Catholic church gives about 90% of their profits to charitable efforts, if you read my above comment.
User avatar #5 to #2 - Blargosnarf (01/17/2013) [-]
The point is to practice what you preach, which seems to be a major problem with corrupt Catholic priests.
