Instead of trying to tolerate all religions, any religion in the developed world should be encouraged to be revoked and forgotten about, so we can advance without having to try and make different religions equal. It's outdated in a world of science and technology.

About 90% of the worlds wars would stop if no one believed in a religion, but that aint ever gonna happen, but we could at least try and reduce it.

now I wait for some stupid libtard replying to this about how small minded I am..
#87 to #68 - anonymous (01/14/2013) [-]
I come from a former communist country, people here don't believe in anything. And I'll tell you right now, there's no progress and people are still dicks.

I know you want to believe that the problems in the world can be fixed by changing just one thing, be it religion or something else, but its not that simple.
User avatar #89 to #87 - NhuckCorris (01/14/2013) [-]
I'm not saying they can be solved, there are plenty of stupid atheists, as well as good religious people, but it can be helped.
communism has been described as a religion itself, it obviously isn't one, but it bears the traits of one, but with the leader being the "god" per se, and communism is outdated and being phased out.

World War I: Caused my nationalism and blind fervor towards monarchs that didn't give a shit about the people. 20 million dead.

Stalin's Purges: More than 20 million murdered by a paranoid schizophrenic, under no religion.

World War II: Caused my animosity and hatred from the last war, imperialism, expansion, and resources. 70 million dead.

Mao Zedong's "Cultural Revolution" in China: Over 100 million "undesirables" killed over the course of a generation.

Korean War: War of ideology, communism vs democracy, etc.

Vietnam War: See above.

Gulf War: In response to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait over resources.

The last century has seen more deaths in war than the rest of human history combined.

<YFW none of the major wars were over religion and you're a fuckwit. Go back to your pettily ignorant bigotry.

Was Hitler's holocaust not based upon the death of millions of Jews, and other religious figures? and Hitler was Christian.

Mao tried to destroy religious elements in his country amongst other things to try and become fully communist. 100 million deaths later, many of which were religious (not saying that religious people should be killed) and China is set to overtake the USA as the world's superpower.

Those wars are based on ideologies which were based upon religion, you tit.

Besides, it's all about the here and now. The wars of today mostly have religious sources, and there's too much religion in the developed world which is dominated by science. You need to see the bigger picture, people like you are the small minded ones.
#92 to #86 - komradkthulu (01/14/2013) [-]
Hitler was an atheist that dismantled all organized religion that did not support him fully. In many churches, the priests were replaced with party orators and the bibles replaced with party literature. He was anything but.

China is not a superpower and it will not be for a very long time. There have been many inquiries and studies into that matter by far more capable people than me or you. Their economy is based solely on trade with the US and their military receives less funding than the US Navy, the least funded branch.

Regardless, if you say the aforementioned wars were because of religion, you're either hopelessly ignorant (read some books) or just trolling, either way, good day.

Hitler was a christian, you don't even need to read to know that shit. But it doesn't matter, Hitler was a bad person, we know.

not a superpower? It's the only country that's growing economically. They're even making progress into space, a field which the USA has always dominated. They're even phasing out communism, which is similar to a religion in itself.

I didn't say they were because of religion, I said that religion contributed to aspects.

#73 to #68 - rototornjik (01/14/2013) [-]
yes, you are small minded. and im not even a liberal.
its not religions who are intolerant or promote intolerance, its humans. with names, who can be tracked and punished for crimes or whatever they did bad.

"About 90% of the worlds wars would stop if no one believed in a religion,"
yeah. thats like saying, if we didnt have hitler and stalin, these atheist bastards, ww2 wouldnt have happened. bull fucking shit.

which ongoing wars are religion driven, do tell me? the ones that usa wages against the taliban? nope. resources and politics.
israel-hamas conflict? nope. its the matter of nationality.
rebellions in Libya, Syria, Egypt? all these have their origins in politics and someones ambition. and thats where the source of corruption is. desire to rule, subjugate, and enslave.

and finally, take a look at this.
User avatar #82 to #73 - NhuckCorris (01/14/2013) [-]
It's humans that follow religions that are intolerant, religion has slowed down the human race for 1000's of years, and it's only since science has been accepted that we've started to advance and double our live spans.

>hitler atheist
Take at look at the picture you posted, dip shit.
Also, Malcolm X was a disgusting racist.

The taliban are extremist MUSLIMS
The fight over Isreal and Hamas is Jews V Muslims over what each classes as "the holy land", religion based.
All those countries are heavily influenced by religion, and look how backward they are compared to the developed world.

Finally, thanks for proving my point.
#88 to #82 - rototornjik (01/14/2013) [-]
hitler was baptised, but lated abandoned religion, numbnuts.
the taliban are fighting for their own freedom. you just dont come to someones country and take over it, expecting the indigenous people to be happy with it.
jews vs muslims- religion is only an excuse here. israel is a thorn in the arab territory, and they want it out.
seriously? and look at the founder of genetics, gregor mendel. a priest. look at tesla. orthodox christian. a really faithful one.
then, copernicus, francis bacon, galilei, descartes, pascal, kelvin and many more.

look at who translated and saved the works of many antic mathematicians and philosophers. arabs, in medieval ages, when europe was really, REALLY far from being developed, these guys were a complete opposite. large, clean cities with fountains, sewers, and good physicians. and im not even an arab, or a muslim.
and in europe, bastions of knowledge and culture were-guess who? monks.

finally, your point only makes you look like a commie on which i can only say:
BETTER DEAD, THAN RED.
User avatar #94 to #88 - NhuckCorris (01/14/2013) [-]
Great, so is your comment null and void, or is your picture?

Freedom? you are so liberal, you don't even know it. God forbid you actually believe that the Taliban are extremist muslims who are helping to train the terrorists that try to kill civilians in the developed world in the name of religion.
you're the libtard that will never believe a single word its own government says, because that's what other libtards do.
Supporting the terrorist muslim group again there?

And imagine how much more those brilliant people could've achieved if they didn't spend their time adhering to their religion? We would have much more people like that, if they weren't bound by the laws of religion, or their own beliefs.

commie? I just stated above about how communism is similar to a religion, and is incredibly outdated. Nice fallout 3 reference anyway.
User avatar #122 to #94 - rototornjik (01/14/2013) [-]
im agnostic, so i dont really care whats forbidden or not.
i personally you are indoctrinated beyond repair.
government? i dont think serbian government has anything to do with wars in mid east. they rarely mention it in the news.
what I do know, however, that Al-Qaida still has training camps on Kosovo. In EXTREMELY close proximity to a sizable american base, known as Bondsteel. what the hell is that supposed to mean? think about it.
User avatar #124 to #122 - NhuckCorris (01/14/2013) [-]
If everyone didn't care what was forbidden or not, the world would be a shitty place.
I personally believe you will amount to nothing in your life with your sheep-like view on things.
One day, you'll change how you perceive the world, the view might not be the same as mine, but at least it'll be more realistic than the view you have now.
Al-Qaeda has training camps all over the world, but they have the majority of them in Afghanistan, hence why the USA and the UK are over there. The amount of resources we get, or will ever get from that country will never equal the amount of military expenditure that is being spent on that war.
User avatar #127 to #124 - rototornjik (01/14/2013) [-]
maybe YOU dont get much from it, but corporations certainly do. controlling oil market... hey! its one hell of an income.
and why is my view on the world not realistic? because i dont trust mass media?
and you think there is is a way to justify war in the mid east? no.
usa is becoming more and more an evil empire, if you ask me. and now i look upon russians and SCO as good guys.
hell, despite being reds, yugoslovenes never really despised the usa and the west. why? because of the 1948 conflict with stalin. since then, we were officially neutral in the cold war.
we were the only country where communism actually worked. and then came the dreaded 90s. if you are interested, which i doubt, look for "weight of chains" on youtube. some serious accusations are made in the film.
User avatar #128 to #127 - NhuckCorris (01/14/2013) [-]
So the Us government spend hundreds of billions on military equipment and training so its own corporations can make a maximum of about $10 billion? Uh, ok... sure...
I think you can justify war if it helps to prevent the deaths of countless civilians in developed countries.
Take what the mass media says with a pinch of salt. They don't outright lie, like you believe, they may stretch the truth, but the media is private organisations, so if you want to put on your tin foil hat and claim government conspiracies, be my guest.
I'm British, and even though the USA is portrayed as a stupid country, due to the ultra conservative religious people that seem to represent the image of the USA, I don't believe it is. It's no more "evil" than any other country. Russia? the Russian people seem to be good, honest people, but its government is a corrupt joke. At least in the USA, even with its shit voting system, it's an actual democracy.
I watched the trailer. There have been 100's of other documentaries and films made about atrocities of modern wars. Some have more evidence than others, but the world likes to think we're over WW2, so nothing will ever come of these kind of documentaries, as it would bring the war into light again.
User avatar #130 to #128 - rototornjik (01/14/2013) [-]
a brit, eh? nice.
but still, being a citizen of a developed country, doesnt make one more worthy than someone from a less developed country. arent we all equal?
there is no way to justify a war, unless you are directly attacked.
and believe me, profit from the oil is much , much higher.
first, these oilfields are among the richest in the world.
second, arab oil is of better quality than russian oil. believe it or not.
third, strategic, non profit reasons. better to claim the mid east for themselves, than to let russia or china get their influence there. lives and military equipment are nothing more than an investment.

and concerning the movie, its not about the atrocities- which are mentioned. its about the involvement of the west in dismantling yugoslavia.
