Thinking about this seriously:

When buying a video game, age is the only restriction.

When joining the army, you are tested on everything - including sanity and the possibility of ever using the skills you learnt against an innocent civilian.



But then again, when you're thinking this into it, does the age difference really make a difference? I mean, if you're insane and could be influenced so much by a game at age 16, does turning 18 immediately make that go away? I doubt it...

There seems to be abit of confusion about this for people in the UK. You can join the any armed forces at 16 but you cannot go to war until you are 18. My old politics teacher used to bitch about this, how you could kill people but not vote, she was a retard.

You can join the army at 17 with parental consent. You can get an M rated game at age 17. You can get any game with parental consent. 15-21 are the ages of young adulthood. Lawmakers decided you must be a certain age for certain activities, and the difference of a few years is arbitrary.
