You can get legally get married, no parental consent, and it would it would be illegal for you to have a drink on your wedding day.

And?

You can handle a lifelong commitment and all the financial responsibilities that accompany it.

You can take a gun and grenade and potentially go die in a foreign country.

You clearly are incapable of handling the consumption of any amount of alcohol. Are you stupid? You'll hurt yourself or others. You need at least three more years of life experience to mature enough to handle the privilege. And by the way, you cleaned the gun wrong, private.

17 to join the army actually bub, just need parents consent and a note from your student counsellor saying you are on track for graduation, also have to be at least a Jr.
User avatar #164 to #130 - anthonyh (01/14/2013) [-]
You can also get a video game with your parents. I was referring to things you do by yourself.

User avatar #38 to #34 - kiill (01/14/2013) [-]
You can enlist at 17 but you wont get shipped to basic until you ate 18
User avatar #41 to #38 - theonlytinman (01/14/2013) [-]
FALSE! You can be sent at 17 with parental consent so long as you are 18 when you graduate Basic Training.
#45 to #41 - thumblocked ONLINE (01/14/2013) [-]
Close, you can be 16 to be in the reserves (but many recruiting centers say 17 for some reasons). But I believe you can't be deployed until you're 18.
User avatar #46 to #45 - theonlytinman (01/14/2013) [-]
It was like that for Marine Corps boot camp. But that makes sense since people can get deployed only 2 months after its over.

Oh, sorry, I thought we were talking about Canada still. :P
User avatar #67 to #47 - thepyras (01/14/2013) [-]
Canada has a military?

Joking of course, Canada's cool.
#166 to #67 - thumblocked ONLINE (01/14/2013) [-]
Thanks bro :p. I'm assuming you're an 'merican?
User avatar #167 to #166 - thepyras (01/14/2013) [-]
Nah, I'm an American. It's like being a 'merican, except I'm in college. I'm really a lot more like a Canadian, though. My friends who've been to Canada say that I seem like I fit there more so than here.
#168 to #167 - thumblocked ONLINE (01/14/2013) [-]
Well I don't judge. I like most of the americans I've met. So you like maple syrup and beer?
User avatar #169 to #168 - thepyras (01/14/2013) [-]
I don't really drink, but I love syrup. In fact I go to Cracker Barrel (home cooking restaurant, not just a gathering place for white people) just for their tiny syrup bottles.
#170 to #169 - thumblocked ONLINE (01/14/2013) [-]
I love you
User avatar #171 to #170 - thepyras (01/14/2013) [-]
I love you as well, but why do you say that?
#172 to #171 - thumblocked ONLINE (01/14/2013) [-]
Because being french canadien, maple syrup is as much in our culture as the desire to separate ;)
User avatar #173 to #172 - thepyras (01/14/2013) [-]
To separate what?
#174 to #173 - thumblocked ONLINE (01/14/2013) [-]
On two occasions, Quebec has voted to separate from the rest of Canada. The first vote was lost by a lot, but the second one was only lost by 0.1%. So Canada was damn close to losing a province. The ongoing joke in Canada is that all people from Quebec want to separate.
User avatar #175 to #174 - thepyras (01/14/2013) [-]
Oh, ok. I'm sorry, I probably should have known that. I thought you were making a joke about cutting down trees. It's a joke around here, primarily because of the Wolverine movie, that lumber is Canada's main industry.
#176 to #175 - thumblocked ONLINE (01/14/2013) [-]
Meh, I don't know that much about about what goes on down south over there, so it's okay.
User avatar #179 to #176 - thepyras (01/14/2013) [-]
Typically. Sorry, I ran out of reply spaces.
User avatar #177 to #176 - thepyras (01/14/2013) [-]
To put in in a word; nothing, unless you go even farther south. Then there's the drug industry.

User avatar #27 - Lilstow (01/14/2013) [-]
you can be 16 but have to be finished with school with parental permission to join the army (i think), and the "M" rating is for age 17+, not 18.
common misconception
User avatar #30 to #27 - kinglobster (01/14/2013) [-]
implying the creator of this is America.
#60 to #30 - Womens Study Major (01/14/2013) [-]
Check the tags, fag.
#58 to #30 - Womens Study Major (01/14/2013) [-]
Then it's the creator's fault for not saying which country it pertains to(or OP's for not saying it's origin). Otherwise you can't blame someone for saying why it's wrong by using a certain country as example.
User avatar #31 to #30 - kinglobster (01/14/2013) [-]

#19 - Womens Study Major (01/13/2013) [-]
its 17 to buy a game and 18 to join army (im 18 now... im right)
#11 - recoveryone (01/13/2013) [-]
You have to be 17 to enlist in the military(united states), and even that's only with parental consent. 18 without it. But, if you do get parental consent, you can to basic training the summer of your High School Junior year. That's only National Guard and Air National Guard though.
#12 to #11 - recoveryone (01/13/2013) [-]
I mean, **** OP, if you're going to insult a country, at least get your fact straight first.
#25 to #12 - warlordtitan (01/14/2013) [-]
maybe not the country you were thinking about (big flaw is he didn't mention what country (although he probably meant america))
#32 to #25 - recoveryone (01/14/2013) [-]

User avatar #21 to #8 - defeats (01/13/2013) [-]
That is exactly what he said.
Conditioning would be the PC term for breaking.
#5 - Womens Study Major (01/13/2013) [-]
What country is this about, because You have to be 18, or turn 18 before basic training to join the military here. Also the ESRB ratings for Battlefield, CoD, etc only require you to be 17 or older.
User avatar #6 to #5 - supervenom (01/13/2013) [-]
its actually 17 for both
User avatar #9 to #6 - supersimpsonman (01/13/2013) [-]
It's definitely 18 for the military.
User avatar #10 to #9 - supersimpsonman (01/13/2013) [-]
(without parental consent, which is what matters)
#4 - Womens Study Major (01/13/2013) [-]
You can join the army when you're 16 in America? Are you guys idiots or something? -_-
#49 to #4 - Womens Study Major (01/14/2013) [-]
No, to join any branch of the military you have to be 17 to join but 18 by the time you finish basic training.
User avatar #14 to #4 - buttlord (01/13/2013) [-]
i just turned 17 and im going in in a few week. but then again im in britain.

I've always wanted to see like, 2 people having sex that are below the age of consent (wait.. i'm going somewhere with this, trust me) and the s.w.a.t busting the ******* door in and tearing them off each other, only to carry them outside, into a police car
User avatar #16 to #15 - defiantly (01/13/2013) [-]
