Idk about anyone else, but I thought it was so much sadder when Will Smith was talking to the manikin after Sam died.

I honestly think both actors would have filled the role pretty well. Jamie Foxx more so (only because I see him as an actor solely fitting a more adult role in film. Will Smith would have worked too, but I think he would have held back slightly, since he's rarely involved in projects with adult themes (at least recently).

Futurama with Fry's dog, Sam in I Am Legend, and of course Marley in Marley & Me. Jesus christ I'm tearing up just thinking about it.
I remember a movie I watched years ago. Some kid who lives on a farm needs money for his sick grandfather, and enters a dogsled race with his old, awesome dog. But the dog has a heart-attack and dies 30 feet in front of the finish line. Cried like a fuckin' baby.
the only movie ive cried in was marley and me ...it reminded me too much of the dog i had at the time. she was old and i was colse to her. i refuse to watch it again, esp since she has passed on and i have a new dog i rather not think of dying now.
i agree, i tend to not watch movies again if theres a dog death esp if the dog was in the movie alot etc.
