Where I live it is completely standard that you sleep with your girlfriend. No matter with whom or where you live. Many parents buy contraceptives for their teen aged kids. You may not have uptight parents, but you may come from an uptight culture which indirectly affects your parents way of thinking. And your own.

by your logic, it is perfectly fine to sleep with anyone as long as they are considered your significant other? in that case how hard would it be to date someone for a day, sleep with them, and then leave them the next day? your "rational thinking" makes it way too easy to toy with people and use people. there is nothing wrong with showing respect to the parents of the person you are dating. one of these ways is by taking time and waiting to sleep with them. since you clearly would rather bash my way of thinking due to your firm hold of your own beliefs i think i am done with this conversation.
