Years from now, and i mean like centuries, after a great war era, people will come back to america, being dead and ancient, and will probably think that mcdonalds was some kind of religious place, or a simble for our country. And if there is an afterlife, i will die a second time.....

it's not really.. "below absolute zero".. it's more like... well **** . it's hard to explain.

check out the article.

Yeah, I'd say that too, but Quantum Physics is a really ******* strange world, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was legit. More likely, though, they probably ballsed up a calibration somewhere.

User avatar #112 - metajunky (01/08/2013) [-]
in my opinion fahrenheit sounds better because of the way the numbers are listed. when you hear 0 degrees fahrenheit, you know it is cold because it is such a low number, while hearing 100 degrees fahrenheit sounds hot because it is so high

on the other hand, it feels weird distinguishing between hot and cold with -20 degrees celsius and 40 degrees celsius too

All jokes aside I generally prefer Fahrenheit much more. Firstly because there's 3 degrees to one in Celsius which makes more accurate measurements. Also it seems fit to use when telling someone the temperature because they're choosing what to wear or something. 100F is very hot 0F is very cold but it can reach both. It's just an opinion and I can see why someone would prefer Celsius.
User avatar #361 to #103 - infamoustrapper (01/09/2013) [-]
thats what ive always thought. europeans main argument against farenheit is that celsius is simple because 0 is when water freezes and 100 is when water boils. but how is that convenient information for day to day life? maybe for cooking but for determing whether or not something is hot i think farenheit is easier. near 100 hot and near 0 cold. also why do they also use "because our numbers do math easier" as an argument? ive never understood that. are you really that lazy that you can ONLY do math if it is in groups of 10s? that just bothers me a lot....
User avatar #125 to #103 - hotschurl (01/08/2013) [-]
I disagree with you but thumbed you up because you actually have a point and don't just yell "Hurr durr Celsius is so retarded #freedom #eagles 'MURICA! " like so many others.
User avatar #354 to #125 - infamoustrapper (01/09/2013) [-]
what? who says celsius is retarded. if anyone is calling anything retarded its europeans calling farenheit retarded. are you seriously being defensive about some imaginary person you made up that hates on celsius? ive never gotten involved when anyone talks about measurements but seriously....

I can understand why our way of measuring things like distance are stupid, but can someone explain to me why Celcius is better than Fahrenheit. I get that 0 is when water freezes and 100 is when it boils, but is there anything else that makes it better to the average person? That it's based on water doesn't seem all that significant to the average person/
