It's wrong to love someone of the same sex but it's ok to love some mystical being whose existence we have no proof of? Nice logic there.
NO, the bible never says that.
It simply says that gay sex is wrong, and therefore ga marriage cannot be conducted, as you need sex to consumate the marriage, making it null.
Not to mention that god has 2 choices for you, to have children, or to give your life to god, therefore gay priests are OK. But since you cannot have children from 2 dudes, gay sex is a waste of sperm, equivalent to birth control, which is a sin apparently, but by that logic, sterile people can't have sex.
The bible never says hate the gays, it says to stone them, but those are laws created by fallible men, considering the bible has been refined numerous times, in fact, it says to love your fellow man, the entire theme behind the bible is to love god, love your neighbour, and to love everything.

I just cannot understand that people actually live by what they are told by a 1000 year old book that contains the beliefs of a 'magic' that is actually the sun of a mysterious entity that created all the matter ever in 6 days.
Actually to anyone out there.
If you truly take the bible for it's word and do the math for the geneologies, the world is 6-7 thousand years old. and theoretically people started recording in the beginning so the Torah is actually 6-7 thousand years old, and remains unchanged, The bible, which includes the Torah, would have been written over the course of several decades, probably from around 25 AD - 100 AD, the Qu'ran is about 1600 years old, written in the 5 century.
That means all 3 holy books are more than a thousnd years old, in fact, I can't think of any realized religion with a book younger than the Qu'ran excluding the LeVayenist Satanic Bible.

What you have to remembe,r that 7 days, jsut means 7 days to god, it could be that a day for god is a billion years for us.
But nonetheless, most, if not all the rules that have been created, that do not pertain to objects or conditions created since then, stem all the way back to Ancient Mesopotamia, making it so you follow laws that were created thousands of years ago.
But nonetheless, you are childish for thumbing me down for correcting you, since you do not realize that the bible is a buffet of morals, and that there are only 3 points in which every christian believes
1 - The trinity
2 - Jesus died for your sins
3 - There are atleast 2 sacraments, baptism and communion.

Well, let's examine this logically. When the bible spoke against homosexuality, it was also encouraged to marry within your own tribe. The bible also tells us that aside from the Egyptians and the occasional other outsider who had married into Israel before the giving of the Torah, that the tribes were all related, by blood, from the common ancestor Abraham. So, while the Torah never commanded to marry within your own tribe, it still happened. Essentially, incest on a large scale happened.
In fact, why do you think there were laws about what TYPES of incest could happen? You couldn't sleep with your direct relatives simply because if we all came from a common ancestor, we've all been committing incest from the beginning. There had to be some way to control this.
Back to marriage, in Rome, you couldn't marry outside of your social class. In fact, that was still a culturally encouraged thing in the 1800's. Slaves couldn't LEGALLY get married in Rome. In America, up until the 1960's, it was traditionally frowned upon, and previously even illegal, for there to be interracial couples. Do we uphold these traditions?
Why is it that some traditions should be held, while others ignored? I, for one, think that if atheists can get married, gays should be able to as well. Simply on the basis that when Christians say marriage is a man and a woman before G-d, they are ignoring the fact that countless people exclude G-d or any faith from their marriage. That's ok, though, because that's done by the state. So why shouldn't gays be able to married by the state as well? No one is proposing FORCING churches to perform marriages against it's conscience. Last I checked, a church doesn't even HAVE to marry a straight couple if they feel uncomfortable with it.

If I remember correctly, they can become married by the state in a civil union, which is the same in all but title.
The problem comes from the 'serparate but equal thing", I realize that msot people exclude marriage from their lives and marriages, but the fact remains that any definition of marriage I have found, and any ceremony still involves certain phrases or references to religion. And therefore, you would have to create a new standard for the ceremony, let's not forget the most common things in the wedding, a church, a church official of some sort, a white dress, which stems from religious beliefs, the consumation to create an heir, etc. Albeit much of these things have been excluded in weddings, ie. married in a park, a judge performing it, a blue dress or birth control on the honeymoon.
The fact remains, that many of the traditions that even atheists use, still come from religious traditions.
As for your incest argument, that is still the same. People often still marry people in which they know from their community, you can legally marry your second and third cousins, 1st cousins only if one is sterile, or jsut full blown 1 st cousin marriage in states. It's not as if these things have changed, it's just that the size has. 2000 years ago, your community might have been 100 people, many of which were cousins, but now your community is everyone, the people in your apartment building or on your street, at your favourite diner, at the bar, at work, etc. That many marriages happen between people in their communtiy, but communities have grown.
Not to mention that many of the laws about marriage were made for practical reasons, but were also made in ignorance to some basic biological facts, like, you knew your cousin that you are marrying, as in you knew everything about them but they were ignorant to the effects of inbreeding
This is just a rant that can be summarized by gays can get civil unions, marriage is religious, incest is fucked up, I support gay marriage

I would like to point out that I have no qualms with you or your faith. I also see where you are coming from, and I do understand your point. I do disagree that marriage is always religious, though I do know the frustration that atheists (sometimes) bash religious beliefs, but then borrow from them. I suppose I just feel that separate but equal is not equal, as ruled by the Supreme Court in regards to racial segregation. Equals are afforded all the same rights, responsibilities and privileges.
I would like to share with you that I happen to be acquainted with one of the most religion/faith bashing atheists I have ever encountered. He is also one of the leaders of an organization based here in Oregon focused on marriage equality. I think someone who is unwilling to listen to others points of view shouldn't be in that sort of position.
We are afforded with several very welcoming religious communities from all sorts of faiths (Mormons, Protestants, Catholics, Jews, Pagans, Buddhists etc.), all of which are welcoming to homosexuals without wanting to change us, and all of which actually support the right for gays to get MARRIED by the state and even within their congregations. It frightens me to think some members of the LGBT community are so abbrasive that they could turn a faith based ally against us by their hate.
I guess I'm just saying that hate begets hate, and I'm glad you are not someone filled with hate.

I never shat on your view, I simply said much of the world still beleives that marriage is between a man and a woman, therefore contacta's little outburst about how FJ is full of "fat fucking amerifat rasict fuck" that happen to be "butthurt christians" is unfounded because it is not only americans, nor it is only christians whoa re agaisnt gay marriage, in fact, I think that of the 3 Judaic religions, Christians are probably the msot tolerant to gays.

So you either leave people in peace, OR
You judge them like the stuck-up ignorant piece of shit you are.
Which one do you think your god prefers?
OP, YOU are the reason I hate people.

(and no, china isnt, they just got a fuckton of people and a politics system taht will kill you if you change their old ways)

The logic that because the majority hate it, it's therefore the correct opinion is ludicrous.
The majority of the western world thought slavery was correct a while ago, not so much now. The world moves on, opinions slowly change.
The concept of marriage or partnership was not originally a religious institution, so I cannot see any reason for religion to enter the debate.

Actually, I beleive that the very birth of the term marriage, was from religion, I know that obviously you would have couples and such, but marriage has always been a religious ceremony.
I do understand both arguments, and support gays right to marry, but the fact remains that most of the world still abides by at least a social law that has been set by religion.
And social blowback is what stops msot laws.
Legally, there should be no problem, but it's the fact that our entire social construct in the West at least has been sculpted by these books, that to do anything in direst defiance of them is taboo, and will cause some sort of trouble with some sort of faction. Therefore you get things like the "civil union" which is marriag,e but without the religious moniquer.
As for your original point, the fact is that religion is what created the term "marriage' therefore, "marriage' will always be defined by the religions at hand, you can have an atheist marriage, but that's more a legal contract than a spiritual contract before some greater being.
