I love scorpions.

The easiest way to pick them up is by the stinger
#190 - vladhellsing ONLINE (01/08/2013) [-]
And everyone is still afraid of spiders more.
#193 to #190 - kingmarston (01/08/2013) [-]
Because spiders inhabit nearly every corner of the earth. While scorpions usually tend to stay in deserts.

When was the last time you ever heard of someone being killed by a spider anyhow?

Couple months ago a hiker in my area died from a brown recluse bite over a major artery.

im pretty sure spiders kill far more people than scorpions and it is much easier for them to move from habitat to habitat i work in a grocery store and in the last month have had 2 black widow spiders in the bananas

Iraq, '09. Desert scorpions. They're ******* everywhere. Not sure if the soldier died, but he did get pretty damn ill.

My point was that people have an irrational fear of spiders and they shouldn't be feared at all. They're actually beneficial because they eat other pests like flies, mosquitoes and cockroaches.
User avatar #200 to #199 - kingmarston (01/08/2013) [-]
And scorpions aren't beneficial? Camel Spiders in Iraq/Kuwait are far worse than scorpions.
User avatar #204 to #200 - vladhellsing ONLINE (01/08/2013) [-]
Scorpions aren't really house-dwelling arachnids so I wouldn't call them "beneficial" exactly, but they're not much to be feared either. Unless you're camping in the desert and one happens to crawl into your sleeping bag, but that's another story.

Japanese Giant Hornet
>sprays flesh melting poison, usually at your eyes
>kills 40 people annually this way
>Releases pheromones warning others of these ******* to come gangrape you
>Can fly 50 miles per day
>Storms regular bee hives and slaughters them all so they can eat baby bees
I think this guy's more hardcore.

I agree, apparently they have the most painful sting of any land creature in the world.
#181 to #144 - rotinaj (01/08/2013) [-]
I believe that title actually belongs to the "bullet ant" in Africa. Nevertheless, tarantula wasps are still ******* horrifying in person and I'm sure their sting would be terrible ; I remember when my cousin tried putting a box on one in a wall in is house to catch it and it crawled on his hand. Damn that was scary.
