i saw a stunt double post yesterday that showed them both with stunt doubles in knight and day but i was under the impression he did his own stunts too

he does most of his own stunts, there is some dangerous shit that agents and directors will not let their actors do, for obvious reasons.

aye true, i was wondering if it was beause he was getting on a bit

that may be the case, but yeah i'v worked on sets and such (i'm a lighting technician) and i'v witnessed the fucking bullshit that goes on with producers, directors, ensemble, leads, stuntmen and the worst of all fucking agents, christ all fucking mighty they are parasites.

"i want to do my own stunts" or "it wont be authentic if i dont do this it's not that dangerous" and you get the fake response, "look if something happened to you we could never forgive ourselves" wrong lying-through-teeth-agent you would never forgive yourself for allowing such a money machine to die or injure himself on your watch.

health and safety madness and people afraid of getting sued. I suppose i can understand the stress factor for the people in charge, if the star gets injured then that's the entire film delayed which loses them money

that's also apparent but i dont beleive the agent gives two shits about the project whenever an agent shows up to filming it's always him babysitting his/her interests.

almost always i'v met some nice agents whoa re just close friends with the actor in question
