Finger's off the trigger, not pointed at anything; could be worse.
Shes holding it correctly wit proper finger guard control. I see nothing wrong with this picture. She knows how to properly use a weapon.

Why don't we just only allow non-lethal weapons for home defense, like a paintball gun with cs gas instead of paint or just rubber bullets? Then you can buy all the real guns you want but leave them at the range in a lock up for when you want to use it in a sporting manner.
should someone get into your house with a real gun and you're over here pelting them with paintball guns or rubber bullets, grant you they sting when you get hit, that persons gunna look at like "really? paintballs?" then you're done for anon...

Why dont we only allow alcoholic drinks to be bought and drunk in bars, and build the bars into a hotel and make it law to stay in the hotel until you are sober enough to return to public? That would cut down on drunk driving and car accidents right?
Because many people are killed by drunk drivers, that means my responsible drinking in my own home is responsible for those deaths and i should only be allowed to drink in a bar with security that allows no one to leave drunk or with alcohol.
That is no different from responsible gun owners wanting guns. Just because some nut job who should have been under close supervision commits such a deadly crime with a gun, which man has done since he has picked up a rock, that doesn't mean all legal and responsible gun owners should be punished. That's simply pathetic.
Only have guns for sporting purposes? Ok, then lets make anyone who drives anything more than a Sedan, SUV, or Pick-up truck (I.E. Sports cars, muscle cars, etc) leave them at designated car tracks for use because you dont NEED a high-speed sports car or a gas guzzling Hummer to drive on the streets to go where you need.

a tranquilizer gun does take about a minute to work .there are almost no accounts of the newer higher voltage tazers that the police have been using the past four years not working unless the criminal was on crazy amounts of drugs and as I said before most burglars and most people for that matter are not on drugs or at least not at the insane amounts need to be resistant to tazers.
Well personally I wouldn't want to take the chance of anyone like that entering my home. Still though even small amounts of drugs and alcohol can reduce the effects of any taser by changing blood chemistry. I don't know if that would have an effect towards tranquilizers though so I won't speculate.
I think you are overestimating the effect tasers may have on some people .

Watch this video, skip to 2:05 to see my point. While it's also full of other examples of tasers working as designed it showcases that not everyone is effected the same by a charge regardless of intoxication levels.

That is also true, but a point brought up in the video to consider is thick clothing that may be worn causing the probe/prong not to be able to make contact with the skin. Personally I don't hate tasers though, in fact I if I couldn't use/carry a firearm for defense my first choice would be a taser for the same reason that you've been arguing that they usually have a universal effect on most people.
Thing with taser though is that their effectiveness can be reduced by the dynamics of the situation. Say if you were in an area were you couldn't carry a firearm like a state that bans CCW and you're walking through a dark parking lot and a mugger accosts you, in this situation a taser may very well be useful since muggings are usually opportunistic they may be warded off easily such as with a taser. If they are a more aggressive person though tasering them may only escalate the situation, whereas the presence of more deadly defense such as a firearm, knife, etc. may deter even the more aggressive criminal.

well if your constantly getting into situations with multiple assailants then you need to move to a better neighborhood or carry gas grenades plus Couldn't shooting one of them escalate the situation too and really your gonna kill people for trying to steal your wallet ? that doesn't seem extreme to you it is just a piece of leather. realistically tazers ward of would be assailants almost as well as guns and if you have mace to no one is gonna touch you.
I never brought up multiple assailants, but in that situation I would advocate a firearm even more strongly. Plus I never said anything about discharging the firearm, the presence of one may deter a criminal in and of itself. It's like issuing an ultimatum, they decide where the situation goes from there, if they deescalate that's the end of it. If they turn even more violent, or pull their own weapon you are doing a favor to society by purging them from this violent potentially murderous individual. As for mace, from what I've seen it tends to just piss off determined attackers.
Which is why I think a taser would be more effective in a situation like that, but at the same time may escalate the situation. You never know how the criminal may react, they are still humans; each one is different and there's no good way to know what they might do, what their full intentions are, or what their capabilities are such as resisting non-lethal force if the confrontation turns violent.
Super opinionated people so afraid of getting thumbed down they are all posting anonymously, seriously look at all the anons down there.
Despite the reply to this comment, this comment is in fact funny and I am staying alive.

I don't really think (or would like to believe) that that's a real gun. Then again, it could be real because, honestly, I don't know shit about guns.

I'm not certain about how I feel. On one hand, she looks like a responsible young lady and her dad would teach her how to exercise care around it, and she looks pretty fucking cool holding that. On the other, giving an underage girl a gun? She looks like she's about in the age where boys and drama is really important to her. You really have no idea if she'll decide to kill herself with that thing on a very emotional night alone in her room after getting broken up with through text.
