if i would have bought everything i downloaded, i'd have to be a millionair.
i hope pirating never disappears.
User avatar #63 - aussiepridevil (01/04/2013) [-]
pirating things is only acceptable when you're pirating AAA games, movies from big producers and music from a big label, if you pirate music/games/films from indie and small time developers/labels/producers you're a total cunt.

well thats what i live by anyway.
User avatar #98 to #63 - critality (01/04/2013) [-]
pretty much my morals, the big companies have enough fanboy-cum-money, I support indie developers of awesome games
same as when I used to shoplift, only from large, chain locations. The local businesses don't need people stealing from them, they have a hard enough time running a shop in this turdhole town.

Notch came out and said he'd rather you pirate it if you can't afford it rather then not play it. So its one of the few Indies that are actually acceptable to pirate.

I have only downloaded one pirated copy of a game, Skyrim.
But only because Bethesda managed to **** up the Ps3 version, which i bought for some 80 $
Still bought a legal copy for PC when i had a computer that actually could run it

If i ever buy a game, it'll be a game from an indie company. But if the game is from for example EA, then i'll just download it.
#82 to #36 - roarflmao (01/04/2013) [-]
but.. but.. what about EA games? who the **** would want to support EA, one of the most hated piles of putrid **** in the world?

Or you just dont buy games that have anything with EA to do?
#123 to #82 - Absolute Madman (01/04/2013) [-]
EA are despised as a publisher, not as a developer. EA didn't develop ME or BF.
#125 to #123 - roarflmao (01/04/2013) [-]
true, but you still support them by buying ME or BF
#187 to #125 - Absolute Madman (01/04/2013) [-]
But by not buying it, you **** the developers.

Sometimes you just have to suck it up and support those poor ******* .

And then pirate every piece of sim store content that exists as that part is blatantly retarded.
#263 to #187 - roarflmao (01/04/2013) [-]
yeah i suppose :/ if i knew how i would instead of buying the game send the cash directly to the company as a donation :(

I disapprove of piracy. I understand the reasons why it is done. IMO if you do not have enough money to buy the game pirating is not that bad, many devs share this opinion. BUT if you are rich out the asshole and can afford every game that gets put out yet still pirate stuff then you deserve to be hit upside the head for your greediness.

TL;DR it is acceptable for poorer people to pirate so that everyone may enjoy the game, rich people are assholes if they pirate.
User avatar #40 to #32 - zers (01/04/2013) [-]
Probably going to get hate for this but eh I don't give a **** .
So you're saying if I am rich I should have to pay for the game and if I am poor then I shouldn't have to pay? Whether or not you have the money for something is no reason to justify thievery.
+1

I like to pirate games. But a lot of them that I play now, have multiplayer, so I tend to miss out

Down the road I usually buy them for the multiplayer experience, but at least I can get the single player for free

Any game I really enjoy, I'll buy.
I have a ton of games on steam I got on sale, and I haven't even played them because I'm still playing through the ones I have downloaded.

So many games, so little time

Not very often, and it's usually only the indie games that no one buys or it's games that almost everyone has finished dozens of times.

#66 to #45 - mrbull (01/04/2013) [-]
Considering the majority of the games on Steam don't have achievements, and even if they do it's a pain in the arse to find out which ones other people have; I'm going to say no, they don't.
