That doesn't really explain how to get, or achieve happiness though. It's a nice way of thinking, but doesn't really give me the advice I would want in regards to happiness.
As I have said on your status, phan, I would say a way to achieve happiness, but I won't because it will start a religious debate. I don't want that.

To be a little bit more authentically Buddhist about it, the Idea is that thinking "I'll be happy when I have a girlfriend" or "I'll be happy when I go to college" is exactly what stops you from being happy now. The larger message of Buddhism is that desire for material things or vague future experiences prevents appreciating what is happening right now, right where you are
