The books are awesome. The Flood sucks balls since it was written by some dipshit author and it's basically Halo: CE in book format, and the Forerunner saga is well, average, but the other books are awesome.
Anyway yeah, there was just 1 person in 1 of those ships guarding the Prophet's system. He was a friend of the Didact, and he was making sure the system was under quarantine since that was the punishment of the Prophets after they and the humans lost the war with the Forerunners.
