I really appreciated the Rosalina backstory in Galaxy 1. If they had run with that a little bit I feel like they could have turned a great game into an amazing game.

I'd have to say my biggest peeve with Mario Galaxy is that in the first, the hub world was a piece of dunk lame ass do nothing, no secrets hub world, and then in the second the made the game linear as fuck. Not to mention, some people may call FLUDD a gimmick, but I think he's one of the most innovative game elements in videogame history. That being said, I do like Mario Galaxy more than Super Mario 3D Land because 3D Land just feels like the took a New Super Mario Bros game (which i'm not very fond of at all) and made it 3D.

TL:DR Hub worlds are awesome, Sunshine is best, New SMB stinks along with Mario 3D Land.

I haven't played Mario 3D land, but I heard it was just a 3D version of Mario 3. Mario "3"D Land after all...

Hubworlds are important to me too, but character development is where it's at for me. I mean honestly, Princess Peach is like the most boring damsel in distress I've ever seen. How hard can it be to add a sub-plot about...idk...her father or something?

Well to be fair, that's not what Mario's ever really been about. Same goes for games like Kirby, on the other hand, games like Metroid and (especially) LoZ are more story oriented. IMO Sunshine probably had the most amount of story I'd ever want in a Mario game, more than just SAVE THE PRINCESS but not so much that it's going into complex detail about things. I will also say... as a character, I think Rosalina's pretty bollox, just a character they threw in so they could half-ass a space story... the couldve worked with what the had if the hadnt been lazy.

Yup, Nintendo's definitely starting to recycle old ideas. To be fair, Sunshine was very similar to SM64, but on the other hand, it was also very original in a lot of ways and still an excellent game. But yes, I'm having a hard time finding motivation to buy ANY new video games for this reason.

It's just upsetting when a game shows a lot of promise and consequently gains a lot of popularity, and all that becomes of it is more games that are glorified clones of the first. And let's be honest, it's the internet, so nobody's going to stop complaining about anything anytime soon.

Actually, only Battlefield has done that. Which is ironic, considering how many people find Battleifeld so much better.

I like Call of Duty 2 better than 4, and on that note Call of Duty 3 was my first xbox 360 game, which I also like better than 4 but that's probably really biased because of nostalgia. Still though, CoD4 is great and WaW was good too. Everything after sucked.

They don't pump out a new pokemon game every 6 months, and pokemon has many spinoffs, like the Mystery Dungeon series, Pokemon Snap, and Pokemon Rumble. I don't see anywhere near that level of variety in COD

I would like to have full blown 3D sandbox RPG like Skyrim or GTA where you go anywhere and explore the whole pokemon world and just a region.

Only 4 of those are actual Pokemon games.

Does not matter each Pokemon game has the same formula.
