How are you protecting anything here when you're spending all your time stationed in another country?
Your average 19 year old isn't a trained soldier, he's a fuckwit.

For people charged with governing the real world, its incredible how detached some politicians are from it

Lol. Of course not, that's what mental help is for. the whole point is to make it HARDER to obtain weapons ; thus to kill someone. Of course if you're genuinely homicidal, chances are you're not going to stop. We're not retarded, we can fucking see that. It's called therapy. Guns don't kill people, I kill people who keep using that fucking argument.
People seem to not realize gun control doesn't mean no guns it just mean making things like assault rifle hard to get including psychological background checks and having to keep gun keys on your person so no one else can access a gun cabinet. Australia implemented a new system that had five categories for guns based on how deadly they are with the pistols, handguns, rifles being fairly easy to acquire while military grade weapons like assault rifles which are designed to kill humans are near impossible to get. The result? since 1996 there has been no school shootings since.
P.S. alot of automatic assault rifles were illegal to own in the U.S. until 2004 since 1986 when a ban was lifted, people seemed to get along fine before then. Again I'm not saying guns should be illegal but does anyone really need TAR-21 for self defense the thing is meant for intense war fighting not defending yourself from a mountain lion or a couple of nig nogs.

All these shit-storms over pistols and assault rifles and then there's me... In the land of tea and cake, with a 12 ft/lb air rifle.

I believe that any active service member in the military 18+ should be allowed to drink legally. If you are allowed to die for our country, then you should be allowed to get drunk for our country.

Can someone please explain to me what is the fucking deal with americans and the whole "our military is over there protecting our freedom" I mean, like if they didn't go there invade those little shitty countries they invade those countries would instead invade the U.S?
Honest doubt, it confuses me, don't hate me and please just tell me if I'm just missing something here.

I know this post has nothing to do with what I'm asking, but I had the doubt and since it has to do with the army it just seemed appropriate.
I'm not talking about the military within the country, that one is obvious, but I've seen it so many times people saying "you better respect our troops in the middle east, they are protecting our freedom" that's what I don't understand since it's bsically the U.S taking away their freedom over there.

Yes I know it's dumb. Trust me. I'm in the Marine Corps and I don't even know what I'm doing over there. Getting out there is far past due.
All I was saying is that this post was saying that the military as a whole protects our citizens so they can enjoy the freedoms they have left.

Yeah, our military's gotten a bit out of hand....but, hey, we protect our own liberties by robbing other countries of their liberty.
Then when certain countries get mad at us for having liberty, we take away our own liberties so there's nothing for them to hate. Makes perfect sense, right? Ah, America.

Those 19 year olds aren't the ones he wants to be gun free... he's talking about the 19 year olds getting drunk off their asses and thinking of stupid shit to do o_o
my friends and I have had some pretty close shaves with death or serious injury, if we had guns I can only imagine what shit we'd have done xD

Here's a question: For what purpose do you need to own an assault rifle for?
Because in some countries you can't trust people. In Canada, there is a place where NO ONE locks their doors that's how much we trust each other, if people weren't so fucked up and didn't go around thieving and shit some places would be more peaceful and therefore you wouldn't need an assault rifle.
alright then every 19 year old that has had proper training, safety courses and background checks can have a gun. just because you are 19 doesn't mean you are responsible, you have to prove you are responsible, you don't just turn 19 then your responsible enough to own a gun, you have to prove it on an individual level. its not like "hey, he got a gun so i deserve one because we are the same age." that's nigger talk
True. But the guy in the photo must have gone threw some real training for many months before he even used a gun. Most people who own a gun don't know how to use it properly nor do they know how to be responsible with it. Most gun-related deaths, were accidents by improper usage.
