I literally feel like my world is spinning when I see this post. It brings back so many memories that I get caught off guard and swept into my own thoughts. I wish I could redo it all and live it differently. Maybe it would have went better if we'd went for more walks or went swimming down at the lake more. Maybe a different brand of food or maybe going to more places. I'm sorry we had to let you go Sam. Please forgive me.
the day I said goodbye my dog was coughing up blood and his skin was cold... I didn`t even get the small pleasure of letting him die painlessly...

My 15 year old dog had to be put to sleep on November 5, 2009. Now I always remember remember the 5th of November.
To help anyone that had to put down their dog, it helps to think about them for a few days, then just don't really think about them at all. After a week or so has passed, just think about the good times and you should be fine. This is what I did when I had to put down my yellow lab November 17. I still have the bandanna she was put to sleep with.
Had to put down my 14 year-old border collie on Good Friday in April.
I had her since I was three and she was 3 months. We grew up together. She was the smartest dog I'd ever encountered. She was my best friend.
Then she developed a cancerous tumor on her foot that cost us too much money to remove, because it'd also remove the toes/foot. She was 14, and we all knew it was time.
Sad feelings, man.
