My dog was hit by a car or something while I was at school a few days ago and now she can't walk at all, and now she probably has to get put down. I still remember the day we got her.

SmuckerFace (12/21/2012) [-] I came back from college and the only person and or thing i couldn't wait to see was my dog....... We had to put her down 3 days ago due to larynx paralysis. Because of it she couldn't breathe. She was only 7 and I'm still not alright. She was what made me smile on those really shitty days. She pretty much died in my car as I went rushing through town to the vet so they could put a sedative in her. I never got to tell her goodbye either. I left my parents at the vet due to the fact i had no sleep from the previous night. I didn't think they were gonna put her down at all. That night I couldn't sleep. The worst part is every fucking morning I wake up and I think that i'm gonna walk up those stairs and see her jumping down from the couch to come say hi to me. Go ahead thumb me down or tl;dr me but I miss my dog.

She was so skinny you could see the worms in her stomach. I took her with me. While in the car she climbed all over, spreading fleas throughout the car. When we got home I gave her medicine and a flea bath. I never thought she'd survive. Every night she laid right beside my head.
Soon she became a full-sized Maine-coon. She and I played fetch in the house. I'm not joking. This cat would chase after pencils and bring them back to me every time- she even panted like a dog. And every night we'd fight over the pillow because she didn't feel comfortable unless she was smothering me. She was my best friend.
She died while I was out of town. I left her with my mother who lived close by. My apartment had a flea infestation while I was away. There were so many in my apartment that they drained her of all of her blood. When I came home I found her on my pillow. I thought she was sleeping. I touched her and she didn't wake up. She didn't fucking wake up. She wouldn't wake up. I miss her so damn much. I want my best friend back.

Userjames (12/21/2012) [-] I feel bad for you.... But I'm glad my dog had a quick death, hopefully. It was three days before I left for college, and I found his mangled body on the side of the road. I went into shock and cried until I slept. It was all because someone left the damned gate open. And to tell you the truth, I'm not over it. It's been months and I'm constantly guilt tripping myself. I've had to deal with staying alive, dealing with money situations, and college. I have one bit of advice for everyone. Take pictures of your animal, even when it is painful to look back at it. I made the mistake of taking pictures and now i have nothing to look back upon.......
