Imagine your regular life. You just woke up, you're going to walk to your kitchen to make some breakfast. You bake some pancakes, then cut up your pancakes, pour on some syrup and lift the pancake up to your mouth. The second you try to put it into your mouth, the pancake repels back and lands on your plate. You try to eat another piece, again and again but it keeps getting repelled back to your plate. You're living in a world where you can't eat. You're living in a world where you're a turtle.
The guy had the choice to let the mouse suffer. And the problem is that he let it suffer just so he could record it.
And no, that's not what I'm saying at all. The turtle's not the one that should be punished, that's just nature. But it would be fucked up if we tied a sheep's legs together and threw it at a lion, cause that's more or less what happened with the mouse being thrown into the water with a hungry turle.
Basically, this is the shit that serial killers start out with.

Yeah it was pretty sick, but whatever, the sad truth is that there are those people out there, and they're not going to be arrested for feeding live mice to their torturous monster turtles. And unfortunately, the turtles are just doing what they're made to do.
I don't know about you but I feed my snakes only freshly-killed mice. That being said, they're constrictors. But the point of the matter is that the person who filmed that obviously did it to watch the turtles rip the mice apart, and that, in my opinion, isn't right.
Sure if you have to, you have to, but I know there are better ways of feeding an animal like that.

A lot of people I know feed turtles mice. But when they do it underwater, they feed them snapped-neck ones or frozen ones. They do this so the mouse doesn't get away under a rock or something where the turtle can't get it, and decays.
So fuck you, this is awful and sadistic.

I know plenty of people who have pet turtles, for fuck sake I worked at a pet shop for 2 years, some turtles will not eat the dead mice, and throwing in live ones is the only way to get them to eat them.
It's nature, get over it.
It's nature, get over it.

yes, that YOU'VE ever met, just because it's not what other people do doesn't mean it's incorrect.
The guy I worked with was a marine biologist for 6 years of his life before getting paralyzed, when I brought up almost this exact same issue, he said it's just how some animals prefer to be fed. If we didn't feed the turtle live food, he would never eat.
Again, I say, it's nature, get the fuck over it.
It's no different than feeding live mice to snakes, it's just as painful and just as horrible.

I get that it's nature. But I have never once seen a live mouse be fed to anything that is a pet underwater before. You can say this guy told you otherwise about preferences, but nobody I've ever known has ever had that problem. For dry-climate reptiles, yes, they should be alive. For water-only ones, no.
