I'd ask her out, if she said yes then I'd be in, if she said no then I wouldn't bother.
The weeks and months some guys spend buttering a girl up through the friendship way is stupid and doesn't appeal to me.
That said, I have become friends with girls who have turned me down, but that was after I'd moved on.
But I've never been stuck as a friend of a girl I liked.
It's a hard thing to explain mate, it's not all stuff I think about to be honest.

Have you never talked to a stranger before?
You don't go straight up to them and say "will you go out with me?"...
You introduce yourself etc, ask some questions etc ask them for their number or to meet you some place... Yes, some things that happen in movies happen in real life.

Have you never talked to a stranger before? I always do
You don't go straight up to them and say "will you go out with me?" Never.
Where does this happen? I talk to people the most during classes, so I doubt it's normal to be in Chemistry and ask the girl next to me for her number and a date while the teacher is teaching.

Haha, I was thinking you were a little older.
But, asking girls out is pretty simple, you just have to be brave enough to risk getting rejected once or twice (or maybe a lot of times) and not let it bring you down.
In school, depending on where you live, social lives of your peers will probably revolve around parties, clubs maybe, I don't know.
It's simple though, if you want to make a girl your girlfriend you have to arrange some sort of "alone time" with them and try to be clear of your intentions.
Not gonna lie, this is all very hard to explain.

It's not easy, but long story short, if you want to meet people you have to get out there.
And I know, that is the single most annoying piece of advice anyone can give you, but it's true.
And not to worry, there are many people in your position, but if you really wanted to you could ask people in your classes to hang out outside on Uni some time.
You never know, some might say yes to a coffee or a drink even if they barely know you.

I honestly don't even know how she came to the assumption that I was gay... I had recently split up with another girl only about a month before, it's possible that particular ex spread rumours amongst the girls at school, but I really don't know. This was about 5 years ago anyway, and the last time I was ever suspected of being gay, thank God...
Happened once, her boyfriend was in the room too. We're all good friends so he didn't care and honestly neither did I.
Never actually happened, though I know she likes me and we've slept together (not had sex, slept) in our underwear. INB4 "Hurr, you could have fucked dat ass!" I'm waiting till marriage (or as best as I can at least) for sex. But, yeah. I guess I still don't technically count for these...

And you say this... as if you will get laid by 30? Plus, I've been offered plenty of times, just chose not to. Anyway, I'm done feeding the troll, you've had your feed, though you'll be disappointed to know that I honestly don't give a crap about this conversation.
ima gonna guess im about level 50 friend zone then, sort of happened but she hid half her body behind my bed in a half arsed attempt to hide :/
4. You're also a woman.
5. You're also a woman and she doesn't know you're a lesbian.

Or, you happen to be in a drama production. Seen so many women in their underwear(or less if you "accidentaly" step into the backwalk at the right time)
