the fact that from grade one on I've been growing up with the millennium (gr. 1 was 2001), makes me feel somehow very sad. I'm no longer going to be in a grade that coincides with the year. Thumb me up if you're in the same boat! :) :) :)

You must be new.
That whole "like/thumb up/upvote if" thing? We don't do that here.
We did at one time, but thankfully we've done away with it.

**** not this argument again... let me settle it.

In Britain, we usually say "the xth of y"
In the US, the normal speech format is "y xth".

Eg 3rd of May in the UK is 3/5, while May 5th in US is 5/3

Y'all shut the **** up now.

Americans base the date Month/day/year

We the English base the date as Day/month/year

Due to it being 12/12/2012 it doesn't really matter either way.

Essentially the British and American way of writing down the Day, Month and Year are different ( British being Day/Month/Year and American i believe to be Month/Day/Year ). With this in mind the whole concept of 12/12/12 looking the same both ways indicates that we have both been trolled.

We actually do alot of the European measurements and such in school. I actually do it the rest of the way the world does it.
