I would be sad but the fact that you almost got pissed at a couple for not tipping is stupid. From the look of the picture, you're in a fast food place (the lettuce gives me the idea). So if someone can't tip, you assume they are greedy? What's your problem?
User avatar #364 to #355 - FUUUU (11/27/2012) [-]
I am not working at a fast food restaurant. I have had several locals come in and buy large meals, have me break large bills to pay for said meals, and leave me pennies. Several times. So yes, I generally assume the locals are greedy. This does not help pay my bills. I am living paycheck to paycheck until I find a new job.

You decided to keep them anyways? You're a ******* cheap bitch
User avatar #346 to #341 - FUUUU (11/27/2012) [-]
For goodness sake, I have posted a dozen times that I tried to give them back and she insisted I keep them.
User avatar #345 to #341 - theoriginalzombie (11/27/2012) [-]
Okay nevermind, I just read that you tried to give them back. But boy did I rage for that short amount of time

I thought you were a noble guy for a second but **** YOU OP! You're a typical greedy cunt who expects people to tip you for a job that even a monkey can do. Even if you provided them with good services, you're merely just fulfilling their expectations (and promptly carrying out the criteria of your job).

You should be grateful that you're not in some third world country working hours and hours under harsh conditions for as little as 8 cent per hour. If you had any sort of empathy or recognition of social cues, you should've just not taken the earrings from the girl. In fact, a true noble story would've been covering her bill. People like you who expect tips make me sick!

It's one thing to be paid minimum wage to take orders and deliver food. It's another to be the customer's main source of interaction with the establishment and often get vented at due to frustration at things that aren't your fault.

Tips are how polite people say "I'm sorry for the **** you put up with, thanks for being cheerful."
User avatar #376 to #354 - amoussa (11/27/2012) [-]
you could the cook inside who has to constantly cook and gets plates and pans chucked at by an angry Gordon-Ramsey like main-chef. Customers aren't exactly retarded enough to think that it's the actual waiter's fault for poor food or whatever **** they're frustrated at.
User avatar #350 to #340 - FUUUU (11/27/2012) [-]
Believe me, I am grateful. If it weren't for the fact that I am living paycheck to paycheck and my wages are adjusted to accommodate for tips, I wouldn't give a **** .

If you had read the comments, I have posted a dozen ******* times that I TRIED to give the earrings back. She insisted that I keep them. I did not demand or ask for them, she gave them to me of her own free will without prompting.
User avatar #372 to #350 - amoussa (11/27/2012) [-]
a low paid job is better than no job. If you have a problem with your wage, go to your bosses, not the ******* customers. She must've felt obliged to give you the earrings because of that stupid American custom of constant tipping and maybe you giving her THAT look. I'm from the UK by the way, tipping still exists but it's not given, it's not frowned upon.
User avatar #377 to #372 - FUUUU (11/27/2012) [-]
What are my bosses supposed to do? My wages are set by the state. I have yet to give a nasty look to a customer and I doubt it will ever happen. Until I find a new job, I need tips to survive and I work my hardest to make those tips.

well as a customer, why the **** should we give a **** about your life? The wages set have nothing to do with us. If it's set by the states, well complain to the ******* government then.
User avatar #348 to #340 - derpdaderp (11/27/2012) [-]
Waiters and waitresses have it hard, they only get payed like 2.50 also, you jackass.
It's because of ****** customers like you they have such a hard job.

Not to be an inconsiderate ass about the whole thing, but I think the story is full of **** , or more so the girl. People that don't have money for nice things like dinners shouldn't be going out for dinner. **** logic?

Unofficial rule #?? of dating: never assume your date is going to pay, whether it be dinner or something else. I went on a date to an amusement park once thinking the girl was going to pay for her own ticket, boy was I in for a $50 surprise, luckily I make decent money and came prepared...

I would have been insulted if I were a waiter and I was giving a ****** pair of women's homemade germified earrings. And honestly OP, how can you believe that ******** ? Women/couples that are cheap ass wipes will purposely do things like that to avoid paying for tips and other services. I'm not saying it's true or not, I guess we'll never now.

1) The girl didn't want to go out but was obliged since her boyfriend was going out as well. I feel the same pain since most of my friends are middle class, whereas I'm working class yet they insist on eating out on all those expensive restaurants instead of eating somewhere cheap like McDonalds.

2) I hate girls who expect you to pay for things. Whatever happened to gender equality? They get the chivalry only when they ******* deserve it.

3) A personal item from someone always has some sort of sentimental value to it. Be grateful you unsympathetic fag.
User avatar #404 to #357 - evictedone (11/27/2012) [-]
Thumbs for you, and I wish I could give you a second for bringing up the double standard of "gender equality" and "chivalry."
User avatar #406 to #404 - amoussa (11/27/2012) [-]
thank you kind sir! Call me old fashioned but I still like to be chivalrous on occasions. It's just good gesture but at the same time, it shouldn't have to be mandatory. Like they say, if you want to be treated like a princess, act like a princess, not like a whore.
User avatar #412 to #406 - evictedone (11/27/2012) [-]
Agreed. Nothing wrong with acting like a gentleman. However, if a person wants to be your equal, then they should at least be fully capable of doing things themselves, and shouldn't complain just because you won't do it for them.

And, also, about that princess and whore comment, very accurate. A lot of people don't seem to see the unfairness they present others when they act the way they do, and then double back to expect something better from others.

Comment-goers:
I only get mad when I don't get tipped because I live paycheck to paycheck. I am paid under the normal minimum wage, because the tips I make are supposed to make up for it. I know it is a privilege to get tipped, but when I have bills to pay I need the tips. As soon as I find a better paying job I will be out of there.

As I have probably said a dozen times before, I tried to give them back. She insisted I keep them. I did not ask for them or get directly angry at her for not giving me a cash tip. She gave them to me of her own free will and without prompting.
User avatar #333 to #330 - FUUUU (11/27/2012) [-]
