Kinda scares the **** out of me when people say that. I mean, not only are you barely being held back from mass murder, but it's with the promise of the best **** ever if you're good or eternal torture if you're bad. Is that what it takes?

Look humans lack the ability to be good but through Jesus God could be merciful so we may return to God's presence as his sons and daughters, so morals is only a part of trying to become good.

Humans lack the ability to be good? HAHAHAHAHA
No.

If that were the case, then why are there so many kind and passionate atheists? Not saying they're ALL good, but I have met a good number of atheists that are just as nice as someone who's religious. They just don't need any promises of heaven to give them incentive.

Earthly good? maybe. Heavenly good? not even close. To be Heavenly good you would have to not have any desire to sin so humans lack the ability to be truly good.

Both "goods" are basically the same. Both parties "sin" and both try to be good. The religious just try to be good and preach about God and Jesus while they do it.

No I'm saying humans cannot accomplish Heavenly good except for sharing Jesus Christ.

Lemme clarify that I'm not saying "is that what it takes" as in that **** actually happening, but does it really take the threat of eternal demon rape vs planet orlando to keep these nuts dry

It's all about how you're raised, if I was raised by extremist muslims in a 3rd world country, I'd likely be impartial to death or murder, but on the other hand, being raised by an average middle class family in a 1st world country would have the opposite effect, as the morals of both my parents and the society in live in would shape my views.

Well I'm happy that I don't need to stone people for cursing or blaspheming, adultery, women who aren't virgins on her wedding night, worshiping other gods, disobeying parents, "Witches and Wizards", breaking Sabbath, and the list goes on.

We have the fear of prison...

You know now that I think about it, Christians don't kill because of the fear of hell, and atheists don't kill because of the fear of prison. So honestly we're not so different after all. And lets be serious here, if the world suddenly became an anarchistic society most of us would become homicidal cannibals

A smart atheist will plan a kill with caution so he never ends up in prison.. there are numerous ways to do it without being caught, you just must not be a raging maniac killing everyone you know and don't know.

Cause its generally not worth the risk of getting caught and people no matter of their religions or lack there of would rather not be in a metal cage for the rest of their life...?

Christians back during the crusades did it too. Not all of course though. The Pope promised to give them forgiveness of all the sins they have done (rape, murder, theft, etc) if they were to become a holy knight for the crusades. While some knights were trained professionals, others were complete "street rats". They went to many Islamic cities such as Jerusalem and slaughter hundreds of thousands (millions by the end of the 2 centuries of war) with little remorse. They were not specifically given orders to kill innocents, they did it however believing that they would be forgiven and receive a passage to heaven They did it for their religion an their Pope. So basically, the most hardcore Christian out there ordered "sinners" and other people to kill in the name of religion.

TL:DR Christians kill other people for fun too.

Just because I'm an atheist doesn't mean I don't have morals.

if anything, this proves that religious people are immoral because they only do what's right because of fear of god/satan.

to me id rather be ignostic than atheist. there are too many questions and not enough information to determine. And being atheist means you know for a fact there is not a good. So unless you have studied every religious book and talked to every human on Earth.. you might not be an atheist
