There are two reasons a man believes in God. Fear and greed. Fear of punishment and hell, and greed for rewards and heaven. Those are the roots of every religion in the world.

a person can have morals without religion...actually religion doesn't dictate morals, just guides the person on a righteous path of morality.

Well, no. I don't think it's healthy to just not do things because of repercussions. However, if we had an innate 'goodness', then would we have no free will? Because we would be determined to do 'good'.

Even more to the point, if that were the case, would we know?

"You" are the exchange of calcium ions in your brain which create an extremely realistic illusion of consciousness (which doesn't exist). You are simply a machine that thinks it can feel. When your consciousness fades, all that happens is ions stop being exchanged. A few more mechanical things take place before they run out of fuel and you cease to function. So since you are universally meaningless, go **** bitches and have a good time. It doesn't matter, but it sure is awesome. Do what feels right, which may or may not include being a good person.

I became an atheist about three months ago and have done nothing but ponder this since.

Atheism makes no claim on that. You simply are just saying you don't believe in a god.

I personally just say once you're dead, you're dead. In the ground, cease of consciousness, etc etc what have you.

start with the first thing that pops into your head or start asking yourself questions as though you are a separate person or multiple people, try looking at yourself as though you aren't you when you ask the questions and try many answers at once, try reasoning with yourself and arguing with yourself to get answers.

that's not what it's for, if you really concentrate you can perceive multiple worlds where many things are happening differently, i use it to tell if doing something will get me into trouble or be worth doing and to test the limits of reality and physics by changing the rules, i also use it to alter my sense of time.
someone once told me that it was like a dimensional antenna that allows you to absorb the past thoughts of others in the folded time stream and once you get tuned you can pull anything you want to know out of thin air, i haven't gotten quite that good yet.

how the story went wet about like this

> be father of 2 girls and get shunned from village
> go live in a cave or smthing.
> have som wine in your store house that your daughter notice
> because lack of males your daughter rapes you and forces you to have their childrens
> you get turned into stone for raping your daughters.

I would prefer believe in Valhalla...

But it's funny how the christians came and conguered everything in the name of god and killed every one who wouldn't convert into their faith, because it was the only right faith... And what now? Christians blame muslims for doing the exact thing they did far back and keep fighthing whose god is right and whose not.

Don't get me wrong I couldn't care less who believes in what, I'm okay if some on have faith in their god etc. but if they use force methods to teach their way and force people to believe in their god then I can't stand them...

Like the saying. Treath your bible like your dick, be proud of it, but don't force it down your childs throat.
