I love Neil Gaiman's Death. I pray to whatever religion is true enough that Death is even a fraction as kind as She.

I know those are the lyrics, but it was meant as a pun, because the title is deadly deeds, similar to dirty deeds, so dead cheap instead of dirt.

But I've a rendezvous with Death
At midnight in some flaming town,
When Spring trips north again this year,
And I to my pledged word am true,
I shall not fail that rendezvous.

And maybe I shall take his hand
As he leads me into his dark land
Close my eyes
And quench my breath
I have a rendezvous with death
