Katawa Shoujo. It is a great novel to read and is really really well written. It will make you cry. If you don't want any adult situations you can turn off nsfw, though I kept it on because it isn't too bad and it helps the story move along,

I've heard about this for a long time but only just decided to download it. I dunno why but you somehow convinced me to give it a go just to see what all the fuss is about.
I'm only up to the part when Hisao is in the hospital in the very beginning but I have to stop playing. Just that part of the story is hitting too close to home for me and it's making my heart hurt from the bad memories.
Anyway, thanks for somehow convincing a random stranger to play this game. It made for an interesting five minutes.

No, I didn't like it. I was once stuck in a hospital for a year and had my whole life as I knew it ripped away from me and all the doctors had to tell me to adapt to my "disability" before finally releasing me and giving me a thousand different prescriptions that I had to sort out. His story is far too similar and it hit me in a very sore spot. It's just not for me.
At least you convinced me to give it a shot, maybe I'll try it again when I'm in a less of a fragile state of mind.

OH SHIT! Dude, sorry I made you, but if you read the story and go for Emi, you would not look at the hospital bad anymore. It will give your life a new perspective and will maybe even grant closure. Hanako will not though, but anyway. Try to the read the story and it may even be a sort of therapy for you.
You didn't make me do anything, I was curious of this game for a long time what with all the hype it's been getting.
I'm leaving it in my computer and I'll try to get back to it once I figure out whatever baggage I personally have. I'll be sure to avoid Hanako though.
Still, a lot of people always talk about how much this game makes them "feel" and I'll admit, it did certainly make me feel.
Anyway, thanks.

No problem. And don't ditch Hanako, but when you play her route, or any route, remember it is a game. The creators actually wanted characters to relate to the readers via their active traits or personal history. I actually relate a lot to Misha (except for certain parts) and you relate to Hisao. The authors did great, and you shouldn't feel victimized or attacked by the relation.
Oh I don't feel like that at all. I was just caught off guard but the similarity between our stories. I just understood far too much of what he was going through at that exact moment that I just couldn't deal with it. It made all those old feelings rush back, y'know? That's why I have intentions to go back when I'm in a little less of a delicate state. I know what this story is now and once I can wrap my head around it I'll get back into the game.
But the positive story he has will help bring you out of the delicate state. He also faces moments in the story where he must face the realization of what happens, but he also becomes thankful for what he has. I believe you can beat this! And the soundtrack is beautiful all the way through.

I heard of it from a post similar to this, and played it. I usually hate visual novels like this (dating sim like) yet this one had a happier overtone. Each decision you make matters and every character is different. You WILL end up laughing too much and then crying and then wanting to become a healthier, smarter, and in shape person because of it. It is magnificent.

Both my roommates are from china. After all this time I've lived with them, I've learned nothing about the culture, and I'm still cannot understand the language, but the one thing that I did learn was that you can make Ramen without breaking up the block of noodles. Blew my mind.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7jU2BNcKUk just watch and have fun.. i guess..
Once I made cheese on toast.
But not just cheese- mutherfucker had beans, tomatoes, bacon, egg- the whole shabang.
I went into the living room to run it under me sister's nose.
Boasting is a terrible sin.
The plate snapped clean in half and the toast landed face down on the rug.
I had to clean it up with my hands. It was hot and smelt so delicious. It was all kinds of torture.
