To be fair, the middle east is and was the way it was (for good or worse) far before any kind of western influence.

Without western influence (western doesn't only mean American) it'd just be a slightly better North Korea.

It's not like they were driving flying hovercrafts prior to any western influence.

islam was never a "middle-age" religion. it was once highly advanced for its time, but after the ottoman empire collapsed western countries split it up to serve their own interests without any regards as to how state lines should actually be drawn (examples: iran and iraq, people there speak different languages, have different beliefs, etc.) soon after, the palestinians were kicked out of their land and replaced with jews, islams enemy from way back in muhammad's time. theres a reason why muslims in the middle east hate the west, and it extends to much more than just religion (mostly socio-economic/political). but none of you european or american users would know that, because your news serves specific interests and is extremely filtered. this post is extremely ignorant, i don't mean this comment to target you personally in any way whatsoever, but in order to actually understand whats going on in this world you need to watch the news in a non-western country. only then will you be able to actually understand why the middle east is so fucked up, and why the muslims there feel such hatred towards the west.
