Wait, wait, wait! I just went to fill that out and I saw something odd. The "closed-door meeting in December" was scheduled last year. It's when they put off SOPA for a year to decide if it's worth it. Almost everyone agreed that people would flip their **** if they ever try to pass the bill, so they'll just decide to drop it alltogether. That's how the system works - you get a year to evaluate things. You can't just drop it the second someone gets pissed. There's a procedure.

Basically, there's virtually no threat watsoever, but google's still using the leftover panic and stupifity t get your names, e-mail and location - information they need in order to send you more **** . Feel free to thumb this down and call me a faggot, but there's no chance in hell I'm signing that.
User avatar #102 to #68 - ewowo (11/22/2012) [-]
They probably already have your name, email and location. This isn't some stupid **** internet scam-company we're talking about. This is google.
#197 to #68 - itsmewaffle (11/22/2012) [-]
I already gave google my EVERYTHING just to get an Email Address.

Why the hell not.
#75 to #68 - ajaxtheking (11/22/2012) [-]
Ok... your a faggot. There i used my freedom of speech (and granted freedom by you) to insult you for no reason. Am I internet savvy now?

You'll become internet savvy when you learn how to use "your", "you're" and punctuation. You have a point, though.

Ok, now I'm practically asking for it, but didn't you ******* learn anything from the Kony 2012 crap? Just because someone made a short film about something doesn't mean it's true. Don't you think a corporation as large as google could easily hire some psychologists to make something with the biggest possible impact that makes you instantly give them your information. This is google, after all. GOOGLE! They just made a way to get several million peoples' e-mails in a ridiculously short time. AND YOU ALL FELL FOR IT................AGAIN!
#88 to #73 - telmerthisisasix (11/22/2012) [-]
That's a valid point. However, I don't think that giving Google my Gmail address does much for them...

guise don't tell anyone but i think google has my google mail account info
User avatar #79 to #73 - eccleston (11/22/2012) [-]
Google already has my information, my e-mail and my soul.
And, in a near future, they might even have my apps in their smartphones.

Every damn time. No one ever notices the name when I'm screwing with people, but if I ever dare say something people disagree with "Look at his name guise!"

Nice one, thechosentroll. However, what I said about Google having my soul stands true.

lol "our" internet. The internet was more or less created by the government. Not defending the censorship in any way though; it's retarded that people are trying to do this again.

The internet was created by the government? How so?

The internet in it's earliest form was a Military application intended on providing better and more secure communications with troops in the battlefield. Look up ARPANET.

tesla has the patent. I don't know if marconi worked for the government, but he used so many of tesla's patents to achieve it that it's generally recognized as tesla's invention. Tesla would have invented it himself given the time, but he was trying to invent something that would broadcast multiple things, like radio waves, as well as actual electricity so you wouldn't ever have to plug anything in. Once marconi invented radio, no one felt a need to invest in the Tesla Coil anymore and it never came to be.

I love how everyday we use the internet to pretty much insult eachother and start pointless debates, but when the goverment and companies threat to limit our freedom of speech and information everybody suddenly becomes friends and join togheter to "fight" the corporations.

Brace yourselves. Front page is going to be flooded with anti SOPA posts for the next month. And the newest uploads for about a year or so.
User avatar #490 - biggrand (11/23/2012) [-]
There are a few big government operations going into play soon that will monitor and create profiles of our daily lives. I forget what they are called, but this isnt the first time we are trying to be monitored and controlled. Who we are, no matter how diverse each one of us may think we are, has been planted into our brains from our birth. We have walt disney movies telling us what right and wrong is, we have schools teaching us the history they want us to know, and the surface outlets that look underground so we can feel like rebels every once in a while when we learn some conspiracy, we have sitcoms and general characters all around us telling us what the average person is. I dont know what the **** im ranting on about, but this is all part of some cycle that's happened a million times before, im not saying dont fight, but if we ever feel that we've won, we havent
User avatar #511 to #490 - burntcheesey (11/23/2012) [-]
Dat's deep bruh, I like it.
#498 to #490 - graysonschultz (11/23/2012) [-]
exactly man i agree completely, everybody says how ******* free they are when really we have all been caged and dont really know it, this is not freedom, having to spend your youth in a ******* school being fed their ******** soo long that its all you have to believe, and having to work youself to death and by the time you get any actaul freedom your too ****** old to be a pain in the ass of their system, i think real freedom is removing any control any government and et everyone fend for themselve, let the natural selection begin, i also think i may be a closet anarchist
User avatar #504 to #498 - biggrand (11/23/2012) [-]
I feel the same, but I dislike how most anarchist parties are associated with communism and socialism, I dont think it is general wealth, I think anarchy is the freedom to decide and take what you want, if you dont have something, then it's because you did not work for and earn it. As malcom X once said,

“Nobody can give you freedom. Nobody can give you equality or justice or anything. If you're a man, you take it.”

Or, you know, you could actually use the internet for something other than jerking off and **** forbid decide to learn the truths and do some research for yourself. You're the only one letting them do that to you while some of us value education. We might not get it from an overreaching government's public educational system, but there are other ways.
