First of all, why is the shadow of the flag, opposite of the shadows of the man, and the large structure to the right? Second of all... Dat moon.

The 'large structure' is Apollo, and that isn't the flags shadow.

Then shouldn't the flag have a shadow? Or am I having a brain fart.

It does, at the base of the pole is a dark spot. The Moon is closer to the sun there and is at a different angle, and the Moon is much smaller so the shadows will change more dramatically.

First I thought that there are some little lizard/crocodile/dinosaur looking things on the ground and then I noticed the shadows.

Also look at the flag's shadow. It goes the opposite way that the other two shadows go.
