Science has already shown us that overpopulation can't work. Once a species has exceeded the capacity that the environment, or in the case of humans, technology can support the growth of the population will drastically slow until the population drops below capacity. Though overpopulation is an issue that we may be dealing with(which it's more of an issue of distribution of necessities), mass genocide and the hunting of people by eugenics is not the proper way to deal with such an issue. I'm sure you wouldn't have the same opinion if people came to power that wanted to hunt you down and murder your family simply because of the religion they followed or the fact that they weren't born with a certain type of hair or skin-color. History may not be the most imminent lesson for every citizen on this earth but there are a lot of things you can learn from looking at the mistakes and accomplishments of those who came before you.
