1st Gen was a simple time when the antagonists made sense in a pedophilic, shady way, and against a backdrop of simple towns, mental cities & a savage wilderness, the singlemost unique legendary was considered iconoclast, on his lonesome because he despised the world around him.
At least that's what I imagined as I saw the film, then went into that cave & fought him. And you can't revamp that kind of childhood experience in a generation with ice cream-shaped pokemon.

AztecJew (11/16/2012) [-] I kinda dropped off after Generation 2, it seemed relevant because it actually tied into the previous generation. Then generation 3 just fell out of the sky and I never got into it, not out of bitterness or anything like that, I just stopped playing pokemon, found other interests, like girls, but when I went back to try and catch up I got sidetracked playing LoZ Oracle of Seasons and always meant to get Oracle of Time to do the whole shabang but then I started Metal Gear Solid and then later Kingdom Hearts and I just never went back and it's far too much of an undertaking at this point.
