Pretty ironic since all of their flags have the Cross that represents Christianity.

I've said this before and people thought I was just looking too deep into it and got negative feedback, so...

Proof: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordic_Cross_flag

Humon explains in the description that unlike the U.S., where people show their religion on their shirtsleeve, Religion is considered a personal thing to the Nordics, and it's considered rude to try and talk to someone about their religion

Yea, I knew that. The "Ironic" thing was just a joke.

I'm getting all the serious responses, but I guess that's what I get for mentioning anything to do with religion.

That's not why, it's because of the Christian extremists that keep popping up in Scandinavia.

Well, they were formed a long time ago, not like we are going to change our flags just cause most of us arent religious?
User avatar #35 - allamericandude (11/15/2012) [-]
Religion isn't exclusive to America.

For those that don't get it:

"Religion is a very private thing in the Nordic countries and not something you're supposed to tell others about, both because most people aren't religious so it would be considered rude, and also because they're such personal feelings for religious people.

So a sure way to ruin the mood is to wear a T-shirt with a religious message, or any other object that somehow show what religion you belong to, most of all because Nordics will probably be too polite to talk about it (like I said, you're not supposed to talk about religion), so it will be a huge elephant in the room and they will just sit and stare awkwardly at you, afraid they might say something that'll hurt your religious feelings. "

Wouldn't another reason be that the Christians (or Catholics, I don't quite remember) basically forced their religion into their culture and fucked up the vikings there who believed in the Norse gods because they were "heathens".

Well, that's 1,000 years ago. We don't really mind. We're just ahead of other countries on the Religious%. Also the best countries to live in. Best economy, etc.

So that is why internet is full of religious quarrel... if they can't bring it in outside world, they bring it here...

Sounds like I'm in the wrong country then. I find it very annoying that people here in America can't keep their religion to themselves, and feel the need to shove it in everyone's face.

The Joke:
Possibility #1: Those countries are 75% majority religiously some form of Lutheran which has a very different view of Jesus than regular Episcopalian or Baptist or Latter Day Saints which is what most US Christians are
The Joke:
Possibility #2: They're nervous because the US has an extremely large amount of Judaic, Buddhist, Muslim, Taoist, Shinto, Hindu and other religions that are obviously not affiliated with Jesus

America's extremely public about its religion, but apparently Scandinavians tend to keep their beliefs to themselves.
