It usually depends on the type of cancer that develops. Cancer on the outside of the bone is quite painful, as you can see here. But but caner of the bone marrow is nearly painless.

User avatar #91 to #74 - pleasureabledino (11/11/2012) [-]
oh! Oh! I think I know that one. Isn't that where all the matter in your body starts to slowly turn into bone? I'm going from the words "ossificans progressiva" My Latin could be a bit rusty though.

I will take your advice. However, I would still like to know what it is. Could you please explain it to me?
User avatar #96 to #89 - superdave ONLINE (11/11/2012) [-]
Well Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva or FOP is a genetic condition where due to a gentic malfunction the body repairs damaged muscle and connective tissue by turning it to bone. Something as simple as a deep bruise can set it off. Over the course of a life time, albeit a brief one, the persons body becomes almost completely bone.

Oddly, it reminds me of a coral reef.
User avatar #61 to #60 - anonymousattorney (11/11/2012) [-]
Oddly, it made me think of someone's bones growing out of their skin, and ultimately replacing it, so that people would have a carapace of bone armor encasing their body...
Well, something like that, at least.
