Theres nothing wrong with wearing a brand name if you can afford it. Its kinda like how people on here talk shit about apple, but do you listen to a zune? Probably not. You have an iPod. Why? Because its simple to use. Its funny how a lot of people bitch and moan about how Macs cant play games, but Mac is still the highest selling computer out there. Anyways, it has been this way for centuries. If it wasnt Hollister or Apple, it was Joseph Magnin or Macy. Brand names have been making inexpensive things cost more since forever. People will pay more for a name they trust.
Well if a product is going to work better than its counterpart and be more durable, i think its worth it. I have several pairs of Dickies jeans which ive used for work for about 3 years. My father, who I work with, does less work than I do, but he refuses to wear anything but wrangler and Levis, he has to buy five or six pair of work pants a year, I have my same 4 pairs that ive used for years, plus those jeans are good enough to work in other settings as well. The point is, I know my jeans are gonna last, he knows his arent, he gets em from walmart for like 10 bucks, I get mine for 28 and i never have to replace them, its cheaper in the long run, ive dropped my ipod a hundred times in 5 years, it has never broken, my friend has gone through six zunes, not to mention 5 belkin MP3 players. Let me ask you something, why did microsoft make a automobile software that works better with iPods than with anything else (sync)?
If a product gives better quality for a higher price it's logical, but most of the popular brands are only popular because people wear them to show off.
I think your friend is just stupid, my Zune has been fine for 4 years.
And it's simple, Microsoft wanted to appeal to the majority by making software for the most popular product.
Popularity =\= Quality though.

People are attracted to Apple products because Jobs focused on simplicity, not utility, I agree that if I am doing work for school or for work, id rather be on a PC, but for stuff like FJ or for DJing id rather be on my Macbook, but yeah i use my steam account on a laptop my friend made for me. I use it to screw with people, its basically a Macbook pro shell which i found gutted and brought to my friend, he uses alienware laptops and he has a lot of old ones, so he dismantled an old one and made it fit in the shell of the Macbook, even hooked up the screen, camera and apple logo to work like a Macbooks, the trackpad works too, people are amazed when they see me running Linux or Windows
its not that simplicity is more expensive, its solid software, the updates rarely have glitches, the software itself has little to no problems(mine lags a little bit when playing music and updating) and the hardware is pretty stalwart as well, honestly i dont understand why the iPod classic costs so much, but hey, people buy it dont they? If someone would rather have an iPod over a zune, I understand it, my experience with Zune is like my fathers experience with his pants, it needs near constant replacement or replacement parts, the software updates are often glitchy and putting new music on it is not as quick as with an iPod, the fact i paid more and got something thats simple and to me is of better quality is why i prefer an iPod. I have an older one and i know people who have zunes they have taken care of, i mean like hard cases, hard boxes they keep them in, those things still break easy on em, if its not the shell/frame its the 3.5 mm jack or the innards have parts that burn out. it could just be their specific zune, but ive heard of it more than once, paying more one time is better then paying less a bunch of times.
Youre telling me? they caught the guy, his locker was full of stuff he had been stealing all year and they called his mom to look in his room, it was just stuffed with stolen tech, he sold my ipod on ebay, thats how they caught him, he was selling things on like five sites and one of the people he stole from bought his own ipod back from the kid
I have bought a lot at hollister, AE and some other big brand i can't remember and i never seen any cost 50 bucks. They usually cost like 20 bucks. I only buy from there because they have nice designs on them. Plus they always last me a while.

Hollister isn't even a respected brand. Most people see it as whats cool for little shitheads in middle school and high school.
If you're going to spend the money to get the brand name do it on something better than that shit. IE, Polo, Brooks Brothers

Sportsdirect - old lines, for stupidly low prices. I'm not even embarrassed to say about 1/3 my wardrobe is from there, and total cost less than my waterproof winter jacket. (But damn is that jacket nice)
Let's all purchase normal white t-shirts, and prints different website logos on them, like FunnyJunk, 4chan, Reddit, and I guess 9gag, since they'd bitch and moan if we didn't.

If people want to wear $50 shirts i really don't have a problem with that
To be honest i don't wear $5 shirts. Probably around $20-30
