Right click on <name>.gif
click properties (usually at the bottom)
under general tab,
second chunk of info it'll say "Opens with 'ie icon'" then a button that says "change"
browse for firefox/chrome, select, back to general properties, hit apply
no more I.E.

And, if like me you're an idiot at times and don't know where your web browser is in your windows Explorer: Open up start menu, right click on the ideal browser and click properties and look for "Target" use that as a reference point!

End any program, immediately:
1 ) Ctrl + Shift + Esc
2 ) Applications tab, select desired program.
3 ) Right click, go to process
4 ) Right click highlighted process, End process
There, you may now be free of unresponsive program ending forever.

At that point, you either have way too much **** open, a virus, or need to buy a new computer for sure.

yes i have and i will always prefer vista
#74 to #69 - firesky (10/14/2012) [-]
For how long and what did you use it for?

I use Vista x64, Win7 x86 and x64 and OSX 10.7

For working at the university and in the train I prefer Mac OSX over my Win7 notebook. And because I pay 25% less it's as expensive as a regular notebook for me.
For gaming I use my Desktop PC with Vista of course.

I actually got them very frequently during the Guild Wars 2 beta. GW2 didn't play nice with the beta Nvidia driver so I needed to downgrade then upgrade later.

I imagine that when Windows is searching for a solution to the problem that I get he's on the other side of a chat room and he promises he will research the **** out of it, but instead he decides to get himself a beer and browse unrelated crap.

tl;dr : Windows problem solver doesn't do **** .
