it started as a troll on 4chans /co/ board and turned into an actual thing.
Yeah, **** logic.

I dont understand some bronies... I mean I have few friends that know that I'm brony, but I'm not like "hurpa durpa i watchz sum ponehz" No I keep it as my own information and that's it...
User avatar #138 - killingsin (09/19/2012) [-]
Oh great, I unsubscribed from this guy shortly after he stopped the microwave show and hoped I would never have to hear his boring and grading voice but here he is assaulting my ******* eardrums yet again.
User avatar #137 - Rockaman (09/19/2012) [-]
I'm no hater but I still find it almost unbelievable with this fandom. I mean come on, if you stand back and look at it from the outside, don't you see how ridiculous this looks?

Still, I'm not one to tell people not what to watch or follow, so I suppose I just have to stay amusingly surprised!
User avatar #145 to #137 - Eralus (09/19/2012) [-]
Most of us are well aware of how strange it looks. We just don't really care lol. This guy had a good point, a lot of bronys take it a little too far. Unfortunately they make the rest of us look like obsessive fanatics too.
#136 - anonymous (09/19/2012) [-]
Amen
#130 - demideus (09/19/2012) [-]
Yea i never talk about ponies outside the internet or with anyone who hasnt seen all the episodes. watch one or two episodes and try to talk to me about it then ill play dumb and deny its exsistance. one of my friends recently became a brony but she only watched 1 seaon and everytime she brings it up i change the subject. only after she finished with them all i told her i was a brony for two years now.
#129 - BerryLicious (09/19/2012) [-]
I just like MLP FIM because it's ******* cute and every now and again I like to try to remember what it was like to be a kid, with no worries or cares about the big bad world. Bronies used to be cool, but now they're ******* creepy cloppers who flip their **** if someone says they don't like the show or insults Fluttershy.
Bronies are the new muslims.
#121 - infinategaming (09/19/2012) [-]
I agree with him 99%

I am an open brony, so if and when someone asks if I am a brony or anything related to mlp, I'll happily explain. But I never bring it up in a completely unrelated conversation, as I agree that the show isn't for everyone.

To re-illiterate, (I'm not entirely sure what that means, but big words make me feel important) mlp is in everyday life for me. In another way of saying, I'm obsessive over ponies, but I won't try and push that obsession onto others if they don't want it. Sure, if they ask why I like it, I'll explain myself and recommend they watch it, but I don't push them into doing anything they say they're not interested in.

As for the 1% I disagree on in this video with, I think Jon has a point about bronies who shout about the show to people who couldn't care less, but little of the mlp fim fandom is like this. (At least, I think...)

Anyways, I'm glad he approached this topic with an open mind; not labelling bronies as 'sad' or 'gay' straight off. (You may call him the perfect example of a non-brony)
User avatar #113 - kirbyking (09/19/2012) [-]
"because no one cares" obviously cares...
User avatar #111 - lemmingonesevenone (09/19/2012) [-]
I enjoy my little pony. I do not label myself as a brony.
User avatar #134 to #111 - nyangiraffe ONLINE (09/19/2012) [-]
Good for you. You are one of the few that realizes that title isn't what makes you a fan. Do you have a reason to why you don't use that title? (If it is the reason I am thinking you are the coolest MLP fan ever)
User avatar #140 to #134 - lemmingonesevenone (09/19/2012) [-]
Two reasons really;
A) I am not that big a fan, sure it's fun to watch, but i never buy any merch or go to gatherings

B) I really hate the reputation bronies have. It's developed into a word of hate, kinda like when younger kids call each other gay.
User avatar #142 to #140 - nyangiraffe ONLINE (09/19/2012) [-]
YES! You said the one I was looking for. The hate around the word brony causes **** storms. You are the coolest of the fans.

i do agree with what he's saying, but let's not forget the same amount of flooding that avatards gave us.

bendingtime post total: 3598

ponytime post total: 19102

I'm no math wizard, but I think one of these numbers is larger than the other.
User avatar #115 to #114 - EmmyGee (09/19/2012) [-]
yeah, but even now you see more bendingtime nearer the front page than ponies. most pony stuff doesn't get past newestuploads - even if there is a lot of it.
User avatar #117 to #115 - SemiAnon (09/19/2012) [-]
We aren't on front page right now, yet we are here. Whether the posts get to front page or not, they're posted, and one kind is posted more than the other.
User avatar #119 to #117 - EmmyGee (09/19/2012) [-]
well not many people get doen to the 20 thumbs and below from front page and most pony posts rarely get any more than that.
User avatar #122 to #119 - SemiAnon (09/19/2012) [-]
Looking strictly at posts in the past 24 hours, there are 11 ponytime posts with 20+ thumbs.
There is one bendingtime post over 20, at 28.
User avatar #124 to #122 - EmmyGee (09/19/2012) [-]
well aside from recently - the season finale flood was as bad as the pony one if not worse.
User avatar #127 to #124 - SemiAnon (09/19/2012) [-]
And *************** was a worse flood than anything, but only if we look only at short periods of time.
The season finale of Avatar was a worse flood than the season 2 finale of MLP, because avatar had only been covering the site for 2 months, while ponies had been covering the site for over a year. When ponies had only been around for 2 months, they were the same.
And lets not forget that, at the height of bendingtime posts, ponytime was posting the same amount of pictures. In the off-season of my little pony, during the conclusion of avatar. They weren't all over the front page, but anyone trying to escape the avatar posts was greeted by the pony posts.
User avatar #128 to #127 - EmmyGee (09/19/2012) [-]
well obviously i'm not saying avatar was the only offender. there have been fuking-science, boobs, feels, turtles. funnyjunk is basically faddyjunk :L
User avatar #135 to #128 - nyangiraffe ONLINE (09/19/2012) [-]
The point of the video was people talking about it in places out of no where. Like a youtube video comment section for CoD gameplay, or a FJ post that has nothing to do with MLP. I saw maybe two moments where Avatards did this.

I feel like somewhere there is a magical formula that can end a lot of hate in the world towards homosexuality, religion, different randoms and so on...

User avatar #200 to #106 - arnoldbusk (09/19/2012) [-]
The difference is that religion for example actually has some serious consequences, unlike a TV show for little girls.

Amen.

Don't use reaction pictures with ponies if it's an inappropriate time to do so. Using a Pinkie Pie "reaction picture" in a conversation about, say, religion, video games, or movies, I don't think an MLP picture is going to get your point across effectively.

Many non-fans are everywhere, and we personally think it makes you look like an asshole trying to shoe-horn ponies into everything not related to MLP.

Just like Jon in the video, I don't care. I checked out one episode, thought it was bearable, but never ventured further after that. I just don't wan fanatics integrating ponies into everything--hell, I don't do that with the many series of various mediums that I enjoy. And there's a good, sociable reason for that.

People use reaction pictures for shows they like, all the time. MLP has a lot of reaction pictures [due to the obsessed bronies] so why can't we use them?

It is just another show, I can use simpson reaction pics, Family guy, american dad, monty python, every anime ever, etc. Why is MLP any different? It's not trying to force the show onto you, it's just using something as a reaction picture.

I like using reaction pictures in my comments.
#109 to #105 - traktoren (09/19/2012) [-]
It seems like you missed the video's meaning entirely..
#110 to #109 - anonymoose (09/19/2012) [-]
I'm not using it to force-tell that I'm a brony on everyone I see. I use it because I like using reaction pictures and I have a lot of MLP reaction pictures covering a large range of emotions.

Am I now trying to force-tell everybody that I like Fairly Odd Parents because I used a FOP reaction image?
#112 to #110 - traktoren (09/19/2012) [-]
Like it or not, you just did...

You dont upload a reaction picture by accident, you might not be trying to tell me just how much you like it or how little.

But personally when i see a reaction image like the one you posted earlier, the pink one, all i see is another brony trying to show how amazing MLP is, and you even posted it on a video going against such pictures.

Say what you want, you posted it to get a reaction, and that you did, positive or negative...
User avatar #116 to #112 - anonymoose (09/19/2012) [-]
I used it to enforce that I didn't agree with you, not to get a reaction but simply because it felt natural.

When I show you a FOP picture, I'm not telling you "WATCH FAIRLY ODD PARENTS!", I'm spicing up a comment with a picture that conveys my emotion. The TV show is next to irrelevant, I might not even like/watch the show.

You complain about people posting MLP, if it's just like any other show, you should complain about the other shows as well. I don't see MLP reaction pictures as any different than any other reaction picture.
#118 to #116 - traktoren (09/19/2012) [-]
Let me try again, when you post a picture, be it MLP, Simpsons etc etc etc you are indirectly showing support for the show, it might have a fun caption or some **** , but you are still showing the show support by uploading it, because as i said earlier, you dont upload a picture by accident, you post a picture because you know what reactions it will most likely yield.

And as you said yourself, you posted it because you didnt agree with me, well what the **** kinda reason is that? You say yourself it is because you like the show, but a comment later you are doing it just to rustle some jimmies... Im not telling you to stop watching the show, im just saying you missed the point of this video..

If you want to stop the hate, stop doing the opposite by posting pony's in places they shouldnt be posted, or are not popular.
#132 to #118 - mrawwyeah (09/19/2012) [-]
so what youre saying is that people should not use reaction pictures unless it is directly relates to the content? that kind of cuts down the amount of pictures you are "allowed" to use by quite a bit. (think of all the dr who or star trek reaction pics for example.) how about quit bitching at the sight of a pony. who gives a **** one way or the other!?

User avatar #123 to #118 - anonymoose (09/19/2012) [-]
The video was about people acting like MLP is somehow different to every other show. I'm the one saying it isn't, using a MLP reaction picture is the same as any TV show. You're the one making a barrier saying reaction pictures are okay, except MLP. Why is it that? You used a kangaroo picture out of context. Why did you do that? Are you forcing the fact that you like kangaroos on me? I went to the zoo once, they're okay.

Posting MLP reaction images when the reaction fits the comment I make isn't using a picture out of context any more than using any other TV show. I'm using it in context with my comment, which is the entire point of a reaction image. Its relevance to the picture is nearly irrelevant.

P.S. I said I used it to enforce that I didn't agree with you, not to annoy you or "rustle you jimmies".
#125 to #123 - traktoren (09/19/2012) [-]

NEVER! That's precious time that could be used having stupid arguments that don't matter!
#102 - anonymous (09/19/2012) [-]
I like the show and can understand if people don't like something then we shouldn't keep ramming in their face until they say yes, wait that sounds like rape..
User avatar #101 - mikli ONLINE (09/19/2012) [-]
Well, sometimes it's actually to just defend ourselves when we get 'caught' watching it. If somebody actually 'attacks' me (verbally) I will try to explain the process behind my actions. I dont wan't to freaking close tabs or windows because of a cartoon I like that other people don't.
#93 - konsu (09/19/2012) [-]
That guy had some awesome points in there, but me for example would have never found out about the cartoon if there were no outspeaking bronies to lighten me. Its just like advertizing. this product is just better than others.
User avatar #96 to #93 - robskul (09/19/2012) [-]
well there's always going to be those exceptions, in fact that's how I became a brony. But then again, you'd have to be slightly interested in the fandom to begin with, and there's always those people who don't want anything to do with it.
User avatar #92 - thecratcher (09/19/2012) [-]
Ok, I must admit he did raise some good points, but... I REFUSE to take criticism from someone who puts "• Jogwheel Productions © 2012 •" in their Youtube description.
User avatar #95 to #92 - robskul (09/19/2012) [-]
is that the only reason you wouldn't listen to him?
User avatar #97 to #95 - thecratcher (09/19/2012) [-]
Well... He looks and sounds like a douche and his youtube "fame" is based on him being an idiot.
User avatar #98 to #97 - robskul (09/19/2012) [-]
his fame, guess you could call it, is really based off other videos he used to do. And I only posted it because i thought what he said was spot on, he probably could have rephrased it, but other than that, i thought it was dead-on
User avatar #99 to #98 - thecratcher (09/19/2012) [-]
If you're talking about the "Is it a good idea to microwave this?" thing that's what I meant by "his fame is based on him being stupid".
#91 - dribble (09/19/2012) [-]
Im not sure what everyone is whining about, I thought he raised a few good points there :). Although, I don't believe bronies as a whole have fed the haters. Not every brony talks about it as much as he claims. But i guess he's entitled to his opinion :D.

Inb4 "whining, I'am not whining. I am complaining. Do you want to hear whining?"
