The book "The Salmon of Doubt", a biographic journey of Douglas Adams life, written after his death, has seven introductions just for the purpose of setting a record for the most introductions before the actual book starts.... I know the content is about having NO intro, but the footnote made me think of it...

And now I must find this book, for I love Douglas Adams' work.

i will presume you have read the 5 books in the HHGG trilogy, have you read the Dirk Gently books, or 'Last Chance to See'?

I own the HHGG trilogy, and I believe my parents have one Dirk Gently book which I've yet to read. I need to go to bookstores more often, it's been a while since I've read a great series.

Well you're in for a treat then! even if salmon of Doubt and Last Chance to See aren't truly stories, they are fantastic books. I recommend everything by douglas adams ever.

I already recommend his works to anyone who hasn't read them. I absolutely love his writing style. I'll be sure to look out for his other works next time I'm in a book store.
Thanks for the information.
I found a handmade journal at a Renaissance Festival that said "Don't Panic" and was tempted to buy it, despite having no need for it.

I named my Kindle "Don't Panic"

I can access Wikipedia from anywhere in the world thanks to 3G, so it's a simplified version of The Guide.

What's this thing coming towards me very fast? Very very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding word like... ow... ound... round... ground! That's it! That's a good name -ground!

Oh no, not again

Amazing books. You read the other books by him? Dirk Gently's books, Last Chance to See, or The Salmon of Doubt?
User avatar #28 to #26 - opieman ONLINE (09/19/2012) [-]
Only the Dirk Gently series. Which, by the way, has an extremely good TV adaptation on BBC.

REALLY?? Good lord i learn something new every day! thank you so much!

So you know, Last Chance to See is an actual story of Douglas traveling across the world seeing endangered species, but it's a wonderful story and rather perspective-changing.

Well, I dunno what the books name is, but if youre looking for a funny book with lots of footnotes (clever and funny ones) I got a book for you :P Though, its only in norwegain so I suppose that might get you some troubble. Anyways, it's called "De fire og han som gjør galt værre, basicly it means the four and the guy who make bad worse. :P
