I'm going to say it because it has to be said.
For those talking about the War of 1812 it was the BRITISH that burned down the White House in RETALIATION for the US burning down Canada's capital in 1812 and York (modern day Toronto). The US did succeed into pushing into Canada but retreated due to a lack of supplies that they thought they were going to get help from the French-Canadians. Canadians for fucks sake you only had about 1200 soldiers whereas Britain sent over 2400 at the beginning of the war and by the time the war actually escalated the British had sent over 48,000. I'm mean stop trying to take credit for what the British did, especially when you want to prance around and act like France beat the Brits in the American Revolution despite them only sending over 10,000 soldiers to help fight 140,000 British and allied troops.
Finally the US actually has won wars on it's own. The Algerian Wars (the First Barbary Wars), the Mexican-American War and the Spanish-American War.
TL;DR: Canada needs to stop trying to credit for things they never did nor could ever do on their own and no they are NOT better than the US
Now let the onslaught of red thumbs commence

Except that most of the British forces were immigrants to Canada. The Canadian born were also part of these forces and the militia that took part. They were Canadian. Those 2400 British soldiers, in most cases, never actually left.
And without France you wouldnt have won the Revolutionary War. Guess who supplied your weapons? The colonies just didnt have the supplies to fight the British on their own. Of course you were most likely never taught this in school because the American education system is infamous for censoring anything that isnt seen as America being the hero. You also lost Vietnam. Stop acting like you understand what happened after you skimmed wikipedia for 15 minutes.

The 2400 were sent from Britain itself to support Canada. Regardless if they stayed after the war. British North America only produced 1200 of it's own soldiers. Like I said by the time the war got serious Britain sent over 48,000 troops
Yeah France supplied the weapons, but that's not the point being made. The point is that a larger imperial force was who the US fought against. Also France supplied most of the supplies but the American soldiers still did the majority of the fighting on their own. Again 140,000 British and allied troops in the American colonies. I was taught that in school but it seems you choose to twist my words rather than listen to what was actually said. Wow aren't you a judgmental prick? You don't know anything of our educational system.
No we didn't lose Vietnam. Sounds like you Canadians shouldn't be judging ANY educational system if you're literally this ignorant. In 1972 the Vietcong called for a cease fire. They couldn't win because the US was too large and powerful a force and the US couldn't win because they weren't allowed to invade the North without starting a war with the Soviet Union. As in World War III.
You clearly displayed your own ignorance and biased bull shit opinion. Heck at least my stance was supported by facts, but clearly you Canucks can't take it when the facts go against you

You know what? If you are incapable of having a conversational debate with someone without devolving to petty insults and generalizations then I am done speaking with you.
What I said about your educational system wasn't an insult. It is well know even within the US that numerous schools have (illegally) refrained from teaching students about American failures.
Those 1200 soldiers that you say BNA produced were only those that were part of the British military. Thousands more fought in militias.
War is about more than just the men fighting. Those supplying them are just as crucial, unless you want to throw rocks. Without France, you would not have won. Plain and simple.
Vietnam may not have been a total defeat for America, but is was in no way a victory. I was wrong about that part, so I apologize.
In what way was what I said biased? Mine was also based on facts. Everything I stated was true (except the Vietnam part.)
If anything I said offended you, then im sorry. I didn't mean to be an ass. I just don't see how what I said was being "a judgmental prick". Did I judge you? No. Did I insult you? Again, no. Was what I said Biased? I don't see how an argument based on fact can be biased, but you may see it that way.
You state that I cant speak for your education system, then you go insulting ours. That seems quite hypocritical of you.
On re read what I concluded with was probably a little harsh, so again, I'm sorry if I offended.

Are you fucking kidding me? No seriously are you honest to fucking God fucking kidding me?
"Of course you were most likely never taught this in school because the American education system is infamous for censoring anything that isnt seen as America being the hero."
So you insult me and my country and now you pull this crap? Yeah okay you weren't insulting us. Please produce the evidence for this.
48,000 straight up from Britain soldiers after Napoleon during the escalation of the war. So the majority were BRITISH not BNA
You can't win if you don't fight. Do you see us claiming full victory in the Eastern Campaign of WWII because we supplied the Soviets with crucial supplies? I don't see you giving us credit for that. The American militia have to fight to win. Battle of Bunker Hill. Battle of Saratoga. etc. I never said we would have won without France. Again YOU'RE twisting my words
Never said Vietnam was a victory. Like 1812 the war was called off. A declared cease fire and the South thought we sold them out. But we were done. We couldn't invade the North so what would be the point in continuing. However, we left under certain circumstances that the North agreed to but then violated. After that what were we supposed to do? Go back and draw the Soviets in? No.
I'm not attack Canada but my point still stands. I know I'm going to get thumbed down because I'm not saying anything pro-Canada which is a no-no on a post like this. I took your remark as an insult and that was a mistake. I like a decent conversation which I managed to have with some people. I apologize for any misinterpretations

How is it stupid as fuck? Point out one part of the comment that isn't supported by some facts? The numbers are correct. The only other part of it that is of opinion is the last part.
You want to call it stupid as fuck cause it pisses you off that the facts don't support your own biased opinion. I know I'm going to get thumbed down because Canadians immediately thumb down any comment that disagrees with them

How does what you just say distract from the point I made? I even said before later in a comment that I'm not hating on Canada. I said clearly that the facts don't support Canadians saying that they "beat" the US in the War of 1812. Like I said the facts DON'T support the biased Canadian opinions
Presenting actual facts is not Patriotic, it's just stating facts. Clearly you're upset because of your, how would you put it? "Big Canadian boner?"

And its said that we won because we are the only ones who completed our objectives on the war. America wanted to take some of our land. We wanted to stop them from doing so. We did just that. Which in turn means america did not do so well.
"What they lost on the Battlefield they won at the table"
The Treaty of Ghent opened up all trade once again which was the main purpose of the US fighting in the first place. We also kept the Northwest Territories that we won so I don't know what you're talking about.
The war was literally called off and the American troops went home. No one won or lost. It was literally called off

I just told you. THE NORTHWEST TERRITORY! After the Battle of Lake Erie

Let me rephrase, cause I never learnt this part of 1812. The battle was at lake erie. Which is southern canada. But the northwest terrotories is way up north for canadians. So by just saying "Northwest territories" Its like claiming you marched 2000 km's behind our lines and kept a part of our land that is now ours. So specify on todays map what you won. Whats it called mate. If its lake Erie, the brits took it and then you took it back. You did not gain, just did not lose.
The Northwest Territories are Ohio and Michigan. Referred to as the "Northwest territories" by the US and the British at the time because you hadn't expanded that far. We reclaimed Detroit and other land. But the Treaty of Ghent established border lines and both sides gave back land. The US took part of Minnesota but gave back some of the other parts that stretched back into Canada.
Again read the Treat of Ghent. Both sides were forced to give back land they took. But ultimately the American goals were reached. Recognized US citizenship and open trade

Fact: at this point in history, Canada was still a Dominion to Great Britain, Being a Canadian didnt actually exist, you were a Brit.(until Canada became its own country etc...) its like saying Vietnam won the Vietnam war, When really it was North Vietnam, but today, we just refer to it as Vietnam, same goes for Canada, we were British back then, but now we call them Canadians for less confusion.
Fact: Taking credit for the War of 1812 would be like the US saying we won the French & Indian War here in North America. The majority of the forces were from the British isles, NOT British North America. Many of the troops later came over after the wars with Napoleon. So sorry what I said still stands

Oh, by the way. The reason we had to be reinforced by the brits is because canada was still only full of villagers and small garrison installations, america attacked because it would be an easy win and wanted to claim more land. They did not count on canadas allies stepping in and helping. So the americans gave up.
America attacked in retaliation for the British embargo on America trade with France, which violated international law. They also refused to recognize British citizens that renounced their British citizenship for American.
The US attacked Canada because the US in no way had a large enough Navy, or force, to travel half way across the world on the ocean to fight an empire who was literally on their doorstep. Canada was seen as a bargaining chip.
The Americans didn't give up. They were in Canada and even reached into upper Canada by the War's end. There was just more fighting happening in the Northwest Territories (which we won) and along the coast. Especially when the British Navy blockaded our ports

You can become a citizen, but you weren't a Qatar soldier. You weren't trained there. The Irish who moved here and were trained in the US military became American soldiers in the Civil War.
They were BRITISH soldiers, not Canadian soldiers. Understand?

Well no because that was between the U.S. and Britain.
Canada "became" a different country in 1867 or 1982 depending on which way you look at it. Using that logic you could say America won the French-Indian war.
In any case, in the War of 1812 neither side directly gained anything from the war, thus no one won.

Although vikings are cool, pirates would beat vikings, their boats would be defenseless against cannon fire.
Although i would think they would team-up. Show those Romans who not to mess with!

I always wondered why we celebrated the Vikings "conquering" us. Then I realised, they hardly conquered us, there wasn't many people in Britain to conquer at that time, so when they came in they contributed to the creation of the country.
(From what I know anyway, I only know of the Picts from that time, but I'm assuming there would be more people than just at the North East of Scotland.)
