I haven't read the bible for years, I don't go to church, I don't know if I believe in the bible, and even I know you're full of it. Just off the top of my head I can think of these two scriptures:
"Love one another; as I have loved you"
Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments."
The whole point of the gospel is to love one another, and serve one another. It teaches that we're all brothers and sisters. I don't know why someone would want to try and distort the message of the Bible so much, but I figure you are just ignorant, being fed bad information, or there's something wrong with you. I don't know.
You can not agree with something without spreading falsehoods about it. I don't give a crap what you believe in, but be honest.

Teaches them to act in a moral manner toward you, and not commit acts of crime against you, then it's a good thing for YOU that they have that belief.

If they can use the bible to justify the horrible acts they would already do, then they will. The bible doesn't teach people to kill gay people, start wars, or teach intolerance. Maybe you'll find a passage that you think justifies your statement, but you need to read the whole thing before making such claims. Jesus taught tolerance, in fact he was criticized for spending all his time with "sinners". I'm not even saying you have to believe in the bible. Heck, I'm not even saying I do, but that claim is wrong.

Religion does not promote understanding of the world, it hinders it by providing false information (galileo's persecution by the catholic church for challenging the geocentric model of the solar system). Not only that, but it gives 1 organization tremendous control politically and socially, through sheer numbers of people who will do and believe whatever the church says.

More wars have been fought because of territory and tribal feuds than religion. Other than the Crusades and the Islamic Expansion, very few wars have been fought because of religion.

Christians though spend more time believing in their god, praying for miracles which never come, might visit Church on Sunday. Atheist doesn't and I'm sure Christians are jealous about it.
What I don't get is why people follow a religion with a book that has errors in it and blatantly lie about the origin of earth and such things. I figured out at the age of 9 or 10 that the Bible was a fraud when Noahs flood was brought up. Over a decade and a half later I keep reading grown men and women taking it literally. It is sad as hell.
