This cop is obviously ok with shooting you and sitting at a desk all day doing paperwork.
#89 - thegkexperience (08/19/2012) [-]
why would the police hire a man like him?
#98 to #89 - tiredofannon (08/19/2012) [-]
In the city I live in, its near impossible for police to get fired. Its likely that when he was hired he was in much better shape and quit giving a damn and that the chain of command can't do much about it. Just to prove how difficult it is for police to get fired here, we've had multiple officers on video tape, beating people, and then lying about it in their official reports. Hell, we had two that were drunk, in a police cruiser, in another state, who were pulled over for speeding and littering (they were throwing trash and beer bottles out the windows at other drivers) and they still weren't fired. One "retired" with full benefits. The other is still on the job.

he likely wasnt like that when hired andspent a long time either injured or behind a desk

or

he lives in a town that teaches everyon that cops are out to make your life miserable and will throw you in jail for looking at them funny

I don't think we should legally allow obese people to be officers. We expect these people to be able to enforce the law when necessary in the most efficient way possible. When they let themselves get fat they undermine our safety.

Of course, then all the fatty-cops would start bitching about discrimination.

Lose the weight or lose your job.
User avatar #69 to #57 - mrmiguel (08/19/2012) [-]
I agree. They should be the ones who do the paperwork or control the chopper or something.
User avatar #56 - SniperKitty (08/19/2012) [-]
Don't cops have to pass a physical and be in shape? I had a cop help get my keys out of my car and he was HUGE, I thought cops had to pass some sort of physical test. Maybe I'm wrong, anyone here know?
#59 to #56 - NoobPlease (08/19/2012) [-]
I am guessing they signed up for being a cop when they were young, years pass and the doughnuts add up you know?

he looks like the kind of cop that would much rather run some punk over in his car and then file paper work rather than running

User avatar #41 - swiftykidd (08/19/2012) [-]
how the fuck do fat people make into the force?
User avatar #86 to #41 - zeusx (08/19/2012) [-]
it saves the department money when they don't have to pay for body armor
#43 to #41 - N. Korean citizen (08/19/2012) [-]
they're slim when they start but get fatter over the years. Most of the time they're not
really running after criminals day in day out so they just sit in their cars and eat out
of boredom resulting in them gaining weight.
User avatar #44 to #43 - swiftykidd (08/19/2012) [-]
as soon as a cop reaches a certain weight. they should be kicked out IMO
#65 to #44 - kamilrulez (08/19/2012) [-]
I think they should be kicked out when they reach a certain body fat percentage or fail a physical ability test, and then they get a 90 day notice, which after 90 days they can retake the test and pass, or fail again and get fired.

The certain weight thing wouldnt be very effective, because 250lbs can be obese on one cop and muscular on another.
User avatar #66 to #65 - swiftykidd (08/19/2012) [-]
i guess so. Body fat percentage or BMI
User avatar #80 to #66 - pugglerock (08/19/2012) [-]
BMI is not accurate. A physically fit guy with a BMI of 35 is classed as obese. BMI sounds good in theory however it most of the time ends up putting physically fit people into the same catogory as obese people all because of their BMI.

Body fat percentage is much more accurate as it takes away the weight caused by water retention and muscle weight (muscle weighs more then fat)
User avatar #47 to #44 - joshwontwon (08/19/2012) [-]
or go back to the academy and lose the weight...
User avatar #50 to #47 - swiftykidd (08/19/2012) [-]
yeah, they like get a 2 week window in which they can go back to the academy. if they dont go back then theyre out
