skip FMA and just watch brotherhood. The original series deviates from the manga and FMA: Brotherhood doesn't. (and whoever wrote the deviated storyline in the original series should die in a hole)

i heard like they enter the real world during ww2 or some shit.and just yesterday i realizedthe show is heavily based off of ww2 germany not sure how i missed it

thats in the movie which supposedly wraps up the story of the original FMA series. I won't spoil anything, but it certainly didn't fix the ending of the series.

Technically Brotherhood is the original. Funimation took the Manga and turned it into something else which is what you watched. Brotherhood is the actual story. The plots are almost the same Brotherhood is just on a much larger scale. The only thing I liked more about the series Funimation did was the episode where Mustang and Ed fought. Other than that Brotherhood is superior in every way....The ending threw me off a little though. Maybe someone can explain it to me. they said they needed sacrifices but no one or nothing was actually sacrificed. If it was their knowledge of the truth they needed then wouldn't that mean they wouldn't be able to clap transmute anymore?Or even use their alchemy? idk that part confused me.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through Brotherhood atm,
and I've finished the original series. I can't really
comment on which is better because I haven't
finished Brotherhood yet, but I will say that the
animation and art style is better in Brotherhood, and
the fight scenes are better than in the original series.
The plotline is odd though.

Nope. Its a remake of the original, except it follows the manga
storyline more, so it starts off the same as FMA and then goes
off on a different storyline completely.

Well I haven't quite finished Brotherhood yet, I've got about 20 episodes to go I think,
but so far I can definetely say that the animation is better, and there are certainly
funny parts. As for the plot, though, I must say I prefer the original FMA so far because it
seems so much less complicated than Brotherhood. You might see what I mean
when you watch it.

yah i like the original because it had a story line. from watching brother hood i can already tell its just gonna be a lot of fighting and stuff you wont understand unless you watch the original first

Brotherhood is the manga-following anime, so close to it that you can actually see panels animated in the series; it has no tie in to the original series.

The original anime was a TV only storyline, with characters written in or rearranged to suit the storyline instead of the manga.

To be honest, you could watch Brotherhood first and not be confused. They both
start off the same, then go two different ways a few episodes in. The only thing
in Brotherhood they didn't cover properly was Yoki, if you remember him? He
was the guy who taxed the people in the coal mine early on in the original series.
They missed out the coal mining town story in Brotherhood, but still have Yoki as a character.

They have an episode in Brotherhood where they explain his storyline. It actually pissed me off because it cut right into what was going on in the actual story.

yah well i guess ill just have to watch it then to fined out don't wanna spoil it for myself
