Mini rant here
There's a reason that America needs oil so much more than Europe. Think about it. American cities were built around the car. Like, cities like Charlotte or Los Angelas were built when the car was already invented, and gas was a penny a gallon. So, living in America, we have to drive everywhere. We can't walk to the movie theatre or the coffee shop because they're 10 miles away. Where as in London or Paris, the cities were built well before anyone had the car, so everything had to be built together. People can just walk everywhere
Not saying anything against or for Europe or America, just making a point.

I don't see the logic behind the argument people make about the US stealing all the oil. Gas prices never go down and we got a shit ton of oil in alaska.

The wars in the Middle East are not for oil. The War in Iraq and Afghanistan were not declared due to Oil corporation's lobby groups, but rather via Jewish lobby groups and Jewish politicians.
There are not oil trucks stationed in Iraq nor in Afghanistan pumping oil for the US. If there were, oil prices would be extremely low.

I get it's funny and whatever, but the people that actually think America invades countries for oil are retarded. America has massive amounts of oil on it's own land that it can't access because of environmental regulations. I'd think it would be much easier to repeal a few laws and drill here than it would be to invade a foreign country and make off with all their oil. Do you actually think anyone who is apparently evil enough to attack a nation for oil would give half a shit about the environment? There's also the gaping hole in your logic were it costs exponentially more to conduct a war than it anyone would stand to gain from oil. (There would also be the problem of carting off an entire country worth of oil without anyone noticing)

hmm.. fair argument, but i feel like you missed some things
right now the middle east has america by the balls - you say the reason we havent tapped alaska is because of environmental regulations? because everyone in an every-man-for-himself capitalist economy is so much more concerned about the environment than the fact that the cost of driving to work outweighs what they earn, right?
I respectfully disagree; the oil companies have already hit their halfway point and in a matter of years all the middle eastern oil will run out - especially if, for example, there are several countries holding occupation in various countries all waiting to pounce on pakistan.............once all that oil is gone, guess what alaska? basically its a monopoly
and at that point even if there were environmentalists devout enough to continue opposing alaskan drilling, they wouldnt even be able to afford the drive to the court hearing

The US only gets 12.9% of it's oil from the Middle East.
Mexico has tons of oil, practically no central government, a God-awful military and they're right next door. If we were going to invade a country for oil we wouldn't go after a heavily armed (possibly nuclear) dictatorship and engaged in a clusterfuck of biblical proportions.
<-- Where our oil comes from

Wow, that's a forceful and irrefutable argument.
Thanks for contributing so much to the discussion.
Seriously, did you learn your debating skills from a 2nd grader? You can't reply to a well thought out argument with "no". That's not a rebuttal, you're just disagreeing with nothing that could possibly constitute an argument.

It is estimated that is the US would actually access all available American untapped oil, we could surpass the Saudis in oil production.
We better invade ourselves
We better invade ourselves
Ill say this now...America isn't going to invade Brasil...I know its a joke but there are 12 year old idiots on this site that are going to start blurting this out in public thinking they know their shit.
If america did invade Iraq for oil, why the hell are we still paying 4 bucks a gallon?
Hell, if you're gonna steal oil hurry up and do it so my gas prices go down.

So you really think that after all of that "weapons of mass destruction" bullshit the American government is just gonna say "Yeah we just went there to get their oil so we could lower our gas price."
If they lower the prices out of the blue it just validates that they needed an excuse to invade Iraq.

Hey, lets build a irreal scenario: What would happen if all latino america fights against the US. They (the US) have a lot of weapons, but we must remember that there is a huge group of latinos in the US territory.

Pff, please. There's not nearly enough oil in there to justify the troops, equipment and supplies that America would need to spend on. Perhaps Venezuela should worry about that, but not Brazil
