So I couldn't play a MP match, only against bots. I played the sniper and all the bots did was pace around until they stand still for a couple seconds and get shot.

log into steam, make sure its updated, both steam and team fortress 2,
if you are already logged in, and it still gives you the message, log out, close steam and run it again. Servers should appear. Team fortress 2 will mainly only let you connect to servers through steam. Unless you play on console. Then good luck with that.
