Why do people always complain about gay marriage? Honestly if you are going to marry somebody you most likely love them a lot and would do anything for them.. so why don't people move to a state where gays can legally get married?

see the thing is, the government can not stop you from believing whatever you want to. however, it is allowed to stop actual actions. Take polygamist cults for example: they can believe that polygamy is a good thing all they want to, but they are still not legally allowed to marry multiple people.
I say we all just show the government by having a million man, gay orgy on the streets. WHO'S WITH ME?
Anyone?
Anyone?
I still stand by my opinion of 'Why the fuck would anyone get married?"
Banks will go bankrupt while you reel in on the dough this fabulous deal brings you.
The government won't do shit. It abides by its laws, even if the government officials don't.
I don't know if you are looking for a serious response to the question asked in the title, but here goes. Sadly, it would not. Anybody could technically go out and state they are married, and could even have a group around them acknowledging it. For the marriage to hold any weight it would need a marriage license behind it, and that is what is denied to same-sex couples. You could still piss off all the conservatives by doing it though.
tl:dr marriage without a license holds the same truth as a person declaring themselves ruler of the universe, at least in the government's eyes.
stl:dr nope

That worked so well for the Mormons, right?
Oh, wait, no. They had to move half way across the damn country to escape being murdered legally because of polygamy(really because they were abolitionists in the south, but I'm sticking with the marriage thing here). They had to create a brand new state in order to live peacefully.
Maybe gays should do that. Go make a new state gays.

My old government teacher had a pretty good angle on it.
After the 'Prop 8' anti-gay marriage law passed in California, it prevented new gay marriages, but didn't nullify old ones. Add in the states that do allow gay marriage, like Massachusetts, and you have a bunch of people who have valid marriage licenses who live together on join income.
Know what you can do if you have a valid marriage license and live together on joint income? File taxes jointly. But there is a problem with that- the IRS won't recognize the marriage as valid under federal law. Don't write this off yet, however, because if the tax filing is rejected, the married couple has a valid claim to sue, and there is a really good chance they will win.
And just like that, the Federal government officially recognizes homosexual marriages, opening the door for every state to do the same. Oh, and the 'Prop 8' law? It gets labelled unconstitutional.

not bad OP, not bad. if king henry the 8th did it to divorce his wife, and some guy did it to get his drivers license with a spaghetti strainer on his head, im sure gays can do it too.
