The games are fine enough. It's the community that's the problem. They laud it as the pinnacle of gaming, and hype it up far beyond its actual worth. People hear the fanboys screechings and think that it means the game is amazing. The community end's up being fine with the same thing with a little more added to the game so the companies that make em' are just going to keep churning them out. They're there to make money, why risk it on a creative venture when there's a proven business strategy already laid out?
The sad thing is that this is going to become more and more common. And there's no real way to stop it. Except by not buying their games, and voicing our dissent.
But that's not going to happen because it's not our voices that matter. We as discerning gameplayers have seen the alternative and know that there is better. But the target audience is always going to be those who don't know any better. The children who will grow up not knowing the joys of unique gameplay and storylines. Who will not know these things because they will no longer exist. No more cult hit's like Dead Rising, no more unique, wonderful pieces like Shadow of the Collossus, or Okami. Nothing but a sea of homogenised games to feed our need for familiarity.
I look at the future of gaming and I die inside. Because I know there's nothing we can really do.

In all honesty, the only reason COD is an ok game for me is the hidden zombie songs
Just look up, Nazi zombie songs
There's one for every single zombie map if I remember right
Lullaby for a Deadman - Nacht Der Untoten
The One - Shi No Numa
Beauty of Annihilation - Der Riese
115 - Kino Der Toten
Abracadvre - Ascension
Pareidolia - Shangri La
A7X did the song for Call of the Dead and i'm pretty sure there's a song for Moon

I don't get it, why nobody mentioned ArmA by now?
In my OPINION it's more fun than most FPS games. Even though it's actually a military simulator, how's that for realism?

oh yeah because spawing from the air from a beacon is realistic, and escaping a jet explosion in a second, and being revived from an explosion by a defibrillator, is realistic...
then again CoD is not so realistic either
and video games will not be completely, because it wouldnt be so much fun
