That's because Snake has had previous business with Nintendo and originated from a video game. When choosing third party characters Nintendo has 3 rules.

Rule 1: Must have originated from a video game. That cuts Deadpool out from the beginning.
Rule 2: Must have appeared on a Nintendo console. This also cuts Deadpool out.
Rule 3: Must have had a Nintendo exclusive game with that character. That's the main reason why Spyro and Crash Bandicoot will never ben in a SSB game either.

I would still play it, but my Wii still has that error from early copies of Brawl that makes it have a hard time reading certain discs. I need to get the money together for a new Wii.

I gave up on SSBB, back when it first came out it's multiplayer was complete garbage. I'd have it search for a game while playing WoW and it would take north of 2 hours to find a game. Even when you invite your friends.

I don't know if they fixed it, I was actually going to pick up another wii and SSBB to try it out but now that I know nobody plays I might as well not.

I'm still playing Brawl as well.
If anyone has a 3DS or is planning on getting a WiiU, Nintendo is coming out with a new Super Smash Bros for both of those consoles.

I would buy a 3Ds just for that.
